Thursday Thirteen
Thirteen enjoyable things I've done since last Thursday. Have I mentioned I love being retired and being able to schedule anything I want to do?1) Had dinner at a restaurant with my daughter while our guys were out of town on Friday.
2) After dinner we browsed a jewelry store and then a book store--something our husbands would find really boring.
3) We were guests at a Kentucky Derby dinner party on Saturday. My husband picked the winner and got 1/3 of the pool (2 others picked Barbaro). Saturday morning I hung a photography show at our Lytham Rd. campus with Howard. That hanging space is not as good as our other campus, so it's a bit of a challenge.
4) Sang in choir at two services on Sunday--"God so Loved the World." It was so beautiful my teeth hurt.
5) Met with our couples group from church Sunday evening at a home settled in a beautiful ravine for an evening of sharing and prayer.
6) Helped check-in and shelve books at the church library on Monday morning. Got to look at a lot of the new titles, and even some that were added when I was the church librarian 20 years ago. Took two long walks in the wonderful Spring weather. Updated my hobby bloggy.
7) Tuesday was cover-those-roots-day, with a visit to Melissa who worked her magic. Updated my church blog. Walked 2 miles in the old neighborhood.
8) In the afternoon on Tuesday I helped for several hours with the church picture directory. This is my fourth time slot for this--the first picture directory the church has done in nine years.
9) Writing class met on Wednesday at the public library, using my suggested topic. We've decided to stop bringing snacks--no one needed them but we all ate them anyway.
10) Choir met on Wednesday evening. Our Mozart Requiem concert has been postponed until October, so I'll be able to participate. The original date was Memorial Day Week-end. I'm still amazed they let me sing with them--it's such fun.
11) Cleaned like a possessed Flylady on Thursday, made the menu, checked it twice. Bought the whistles (see this entry).
12) Thursday the Visual Arts Ministry will finalize plans for the fall and next spring. The church will be celebrating its 50th anniversary in the fall, and that committee may need some assistance--although we have no budget. We don't hang shows in the summer, but are scheduling through 2007.
13) And finally, I'll set the table on Thursday and prepare to welcome my guests on Friday evening, relaxed and ready to enjoy myself. All events are better if the hostess is rested and happy.
(If you participate, leave your link in the auto-link and it will post here, but please leave a comment.)
The purpose of the meme is to get to know everyone who participates a little bit better every Thursday. Visiting fellow Thirteeners is encouraged! If you participate, leave the link to your Thirteen in others comments. It’s easy, and fun! Be sure to update your Thirteen with links that are left for you, as well! I will link to everyone who participates and leaves a link to their 13 things.

Sounds like a wonderful week. Thanks for visiting my TT previously... this week is UP!
What a great week you had! So pleasant and enjoyable. Neat that your husband picked the winner of the KY Derby, I watched it for the first time this year. My list is up!
Looks like you had a fun-filled week. Mine was a lot of fun too. Happy Thursday!
My TT is up!
Have you noticed how busy you get when you retire? Your days seem to be just as full :)
Have a great TT day

Wow, you did have a great week. We are spending a long weekend with our daughter as she graduates with her Master's in Library Sciences. My TT is up.
I'm not sure how beauty made your teeth hurt!
It's nice to read about your church activities and relationships, I don't see that much. I don't even do it much despite the fact I go to church and bible study and lead youth every week.
What a great week! You forgot to mention the hours you spent writing (wink)!
Ohhhhhhhh, the Kentucky Derby. I never miss watching it.
My T T is published
That is a beautfiul song. We've sung it in choir before. This week, we're singing an upbeat song called "I Can't Get Enough of You." Very peppy.
I think being retired must be wonderful. could I retire at 34? Hmmmm.
Sounds like you are keeping plenty busy! I've just officially been given charge of our church library, so now I know who to come to for advice. :-)
I agree with you about having a better time if the hostess is relaxed and prepared. I like to do as much as I can beforehand so that on the actual day of, I can relax a little and not run around like a chicken with no head. :)
Sounds great.
My tt is up fefyfomanna: Thursday 13: Cute Bunnies!
Isn't it wonderful having the free time to do what you want to do when you want to do it?!?! I had several weeks of doing nothing after I took the bar exam before the results came out, and I loved it!
Happy Thursday!
awesome post. I wish I could be retired. :(
Were you at the dueling grounds in KY? I'm near there! Or... was the dinner party elsewhere?
That sure was a T13 filled with a lot of different and interesting content :-)
I hope you have a wonderful Friday! No, I'm sure you're going to have!
What a great week you've had! My list is up!
Sounds like you are a busy lady. Good that you get to enjoy EVERYTHING you can! Enjoy retirement!
Thanks for stopping by!
I didn't know you were retired. I am glad you have the time to do such enjoyable things!! I enjoyed your slide show down below, only blogger didn't let me comment. I am glad I can leave you a note here, I didn't want you to think I "link and run", lol! Happy TT, such an enjoyable meme for all of us to greet and visit!
What a busy fun TT! Thanks for sharing.
I'm up.
Sounds like a lovely week!! Wishing you another one next week!
Happy Thursday, my TT is up!
Some of the rabbits are from local shelters so we don't really know much about their pasts. And some had a really bad past, others the owners gave up for one reason or another. The rabbit bios are listed on the link to the rabbit society...just click on Rabbits for adoption.
This sounds like a very interesting week!! I had to laugh because I helped clean out a church library with a veteran 80-year-old librarian once. As we were deciding what to purge, she said, "I'll tell ya how to pick the good books." I asked, "How?" She replied, "Throw out everything written after 1970! There are NO GOOD BOOKS written after 1970!" This wasn't exactly the criteria we used...but she DID give us a good chuckle!
My TT is up.
What a great great week you have had. And what an opportunity for your pastor!!!!

My TT is up
Well I guess when you put it that way....I'm semi-retired myself. But I keep thinking I should be relaxing more. My blog is like a full time job! It's fun though. I have to go back and watch the video of you growing up.
Wow, I believe you may be busier than I am with a full-time job. Yours seems more fun though :-)
Wow - very busy for a retired woman. But it is so much more fun to do things you love to do and there is really no pressure.:)
Wow, and your retired..you sure are busy..Have a great week.
Thanks for visiting my TT

Wow you've done a LOT of things for the week! But I guess you didn't get tired easily because you enjoyed every activity. I'm looking forward to my retirement, though I have to wait because I just started working (I only graduated from college this April). LOL.
Happy Mom's Day Norma. Hope you're enjoying your day. :)
