People are catching on
"Less than half the population believes that human activity is to blame for global warming, according to an exclusive poll for The Times. The revelation that ministers have failed in their campaign to persuade the public that the greenhouse effect is a serious threat requiring urgent action will make uncomfortable reading for the Government as it prepares for next month’s climate change summit in Copenhagen.
Only 41 per cent accept as an established scientific fact that global warming is taking place and is largely man-made. Almost a third (32 per cent) believe that the link is not yet proved; 8 per cent say that it is environmentalist propaganda to blame man and 15 per cent say that the world is not warming."

It is really hard to believe in global warming when I'm freezing my tush off here!
Right, but it could swing back, and probably will. The real issue is CO2, and that's what they are lying about. It's a huge scam. The midwest used to be covered with a glacier. I for one am glad it warmed up.
More from that Times poll conducted in Great Britain.
Ed Miliband, the Energy and Climate Change Secretary, said: “The overwhelming body of scientific information is stacked up against the deniers and shows us that climate change is man-made and is happening now. We know that we still have a way to go in informing people about climate change and that is why we make no apologies about pushing forward with our new Act on CO2 campaign.”
Yes, blame it on the dumb people who don't believe them. CO2 isn't the cause; warming has been going on for centuries. But you can't make any money on the other theories.
"CO2 isn't the cause",that's a fairly definitive statement about something so controversial. As for your "you can't make any money on the other theories" statement. The only theory that's already been proven to be a real money maker, is the "CO2 isn't the cause" assumption.
I didn't classify those who don't believe as dumb, but if you feel comfortable with giving them that label. You'll get no argument from me.
Murray sez:
Due to the lack of "global warming" in northern Illinois, I'm spending my winter in Florida!
You might try thinking on just a tad bit larger scale. It's "global warming" not "northern Illinois" warming.
"Everything hinges on this one question. If carbon dioxide is not a significant cause, then carbon sequestration, cap-and-trade, emissions trading, and the Kyoto agreement are a waste of time and money. . . Instead of carbon pushing up temperatures, for the last half-a-million years temperatures have gone up before carbon dioxide levels. On average 800 years before. . . Something may be causing the warming, but the models don't know what it is." The world has not warmed since 2001. See The Skeptic's Handbook. joannenova.com.au
You should add 'Jesus' between the Easter Bunny and Global Warming.
Why are you afraid to show your name, anon 1:23?
God knows where and who he is.
