A letter from Bird about corruption
To: Editorial Page Editor
Riverland News
Hillary Clinton erased thousands of potentially damaging emails and took a hammer to cell phones to render them useless, but nothing happens. Barak Obama has boxes of classified material from when he was president, but nothing happens. Mike Pence has boxes stored from his time as vice-president, but nothing happens. We all saw Joe Biden on that stage in a foreign country saying that if the prosecutor investigating his son isn’t fired the country would not receive U.S. tax dollars, but nothing happens. Joe Biden has hundreds, maybe thousands of boxes from when he was a senator and also vice-president, some stored in his garage, but nothing happens. I guess that’s OK, because Joe’s vintage Corvette is protecting them. But when Donald Trump has boxes stored at his estate in a locked room, that has an extra lock installed as requested and has a secret service detail in residence, this demands a federal indictment. Ask yourself why this is happening. One reason of course is that Trump is again running for president and the left is petrified that if elected, he will finish the job of draining the swamp and put them all out of work or better yet in jail where most of them belong, But I believe it is because the House is now investigating Biden on potential corruption charges for accepting millions in bribes when he was vice-president that could result is his impeachment, a legitimate impeachment. That’s why this is happening.

Words, words, words.
"Gender affirming care" is actually legalized child abuse which includes toxic hormones for children, and amputation of body parts. Pay no attention to those "medical" associations that approve it. There are virtually zero/zip clinical or long term studies, only hunches and hopes, what these zombized lab specimens will be when they are 80.
"Respect for marriage act" is exactly the opposite. It intends to enshrine same sex or any sex or any number of genders or any species into formal, cultural recognition of a relationship which will criminalize you if you don't agree. The most primitive of societies in the most far reaching regions and religions always had a way to formalize a marriage between men and women. They weren't confused. They knew concubines, mistresses, male temple prostitutes and adolescent boys who were sex toys of older men were not marriage partners. They were sex objects. Marriage was for the creation of a family, for procreation, even if that culture had no knowledge of Christ, Moses or Mohammed or a named Hindu God or gods. There are some things pre-history people knew that we're trying to legislate away today in order to destabilize society.
"Inflation Reduction Act" is exactly the opposite. Only governments create inflation, and only governments increase inflation by expanding the supply of money. Both the Trump and Biden administrations threw unreasonable amounts of money at the pandemic on the advice of people who claimed to know how to stop a virus. They then burdened the people who make the money and give it to the government in taxes with lockdowns. Even churches took money to stay closed--the very people we trusted with our souls and our first amendment.
"Climate change" is one of those, of course it does, phrases. But the political meaning is very different than the words. It actually means there is a huge cloud of power hungry bureaucrats who have enlisted science, entertainment, information giants and massive corporations to convince you the tax payer to believe puny, insignificant people, can control the universe. These are the same people who can't define a woman or properly fund the police or can use an attack on Paul Pelosi while police were in house to accuse Trump supporters.
So that's my word story for today. Now a few words from a career librarian: to the victor belong the archives. If you have to go to the victor (Biden administration, Bush, Obama, Clinton, JFK, LBJ, FDR, etc.) to get your information (data, knowledge, news reports, archives), you better have your eye on a deeper understanding of TRUTH before you start your journey.
And btw, why do lesbians and homosexuals want these goons and abusers in their camp? Haven't they spent decades claiming they are not pedophiles, and now they take the T and the Q into their acronym?

Psalm 15, reflections from 1938 and 2021
This morning in my Magnificat (journal) reading for November 4, Psalm 15 was suggested. When I read it, immediately my thoughts turned to the recent election and all politicians and candidates, issues and levies from city council to governor all over the nation. To me it said our leaders need to honor God in order to be successful. So I turned to my favorite source on the Psalms, "Meditations in the Book of Psalms" by Erling C. Olsen which is based on his Sunday radio broadcasts during the Great Depression in the 1930s. Much to my surprise, I see I wasn't the only one who thought of politicians with this Psalm--so did President Franklin D. Roosevelt who was elected to 4 terms during the Depression and WWII. At the time of this telling, FDR was not yet a war time president, but a president who had been unable to keep his promise to get the country out of the Depression, in fact, his policies had deepened it as the federal government grabbed more and more power. In 1937 there had been another depression inside the Great Depression.
Olsen tells the following story: On the 5th anniversary of FDR's inauguration [1938] at a special church service at which this Psalm was read. . .it is reported that he suggested that this 15th Psalm of David was an appropriate lead for any story [reporters]. "The next morning the New York Herald Tribune obliged the President by printing the Psalm upon its front page. This caused some controversy in the press (just like today) and Dorothy Thompson (very popular and influential columnist married to Sinclair Lewis) declared that it is extremely dangerous to quote the Bible in support of one's prejudices because the other side can always find just as appropriate a quotation. She even went so far, and correctly so, as to suggest that the devil can also quote Scripture. Olsen goes on to say that it is unfortunate that the Bible is used this way (I don't think he was a fan of Roosevelt, nor am I) and that the Bible was never intended to be handled in a partisan way and can only be used by a spiritual man as he is guided by the Spirit of God. Perhaps it was Roosevelt's speech that day in a church using scripture that Olsen disapproved of, but when I read it this morning, I immediately thought of November 2 and the election.
Psalm 15
1O Lord, who may abide in your tent? Who may dwell on your holy hill?
2Those who walk blamelessly, and do what is right, and speak the truth from their heart;
3who do not slander with their tongue, and do no evil to their friends, nor take up a reproach against their neighbors;
4in whose eyes the wicked are despised, but who honor those who fear the Lord; who stand by their oath even to their hurt;
5who do not lend money at interest, and do not take a bribe against the innocent.

Those who misled us during the pandemic
Instead of keeping calm and carrying on, the American elite flouted the norms of governance, journalism, academic freedom—and, worst of all, science. They misled the public about the origins of the virus and the true risk that it posed. Ignoring their own carefully prepared plans for a pandemic, they claimed unprecedented powers to impose untested strategies, with terrible collateral damage. As evidence of their mistakes mounted, they stifled debate by vilifying dissenters, censoring criticism, and suppressing scientific research."

Joe Biden says . . .
Joe Biden says America hasn't lived up to her promises. If he were talking about "life, liberty and pursuit of happiness," I'd agree with him. He's all for snuffing out lives full of potential before they get a chance to be born, and some after they are born. If he were talking about the percent of black babies who are aborted (more blacks aborted in 4 days than 80 years of lynching) I'd say yes. If he were talking about the miserable showing the "woke" graduates of our colleges and universities infecting the businesses that hire them, I could agree.
But he's not.
If he were talking about the failed politicians returning to positions of power and wealth for over 40 years, politicians like himself, I'd be cheering him on.
But he's not.
He's talking about blaming Trump and the 75,000,000 million Americans Biden's now trying to "cancel" so they can't get jobs in government, industry, academe, entertainment, or any other respectable activity. So if you believe America is great, the way Donald Trump did, with all kinds of possibilities and gifts for the world, if you think America First is a great slogan, the way millions did, get ready for your deprogramming.
Get ready for lectures and workshops and sermons on "anti-racism."
Get ready for self-hate and despising Western Civilization.
Get ready for the truly fascist system the Democrats are putting in place as government and big industry (Big Tech, oligarchies) work together to strip you of your freedom of speech and your freedom of religion while destroying your wealth.

Share the wealth, musings and opinions
As Biden puts together his "redistribution" team of former Obama and Clinton failures, I was reading today the wisdom of a man who was writing during the Great Depression, Erling C. Olsen. He was not a political commentator, or pastor, just a layman who had a radio show about the Psalms which was later reissued as a book that went through a number of editions. His message on Psalm 62 included these remarks about pastors and politicians who were trying to make sense of those trying times (during which my parents went to college, got married, had 4 children and bought a home):
"Just now it seems to be a pastime of some to heap all manner of invectives upon those who are of high degree or great position. One voice cries out ". . . Salvation can only be had in the sharing of wealth." Another insists that it is not a matter of sharing wealth, but of sharing income. Still another, a clergyman, used to shout, "In silver lies our redemption." The fact of the matter is that salvation is in none of these, neither the salvation of the individual, nor of society. While we may see some distinction in men, and assume that by the simple process of equalizing wealth we can bring man into a paradise; in God's sight sin is the cause of inequalities. So long as sin reigns, just so long will these situations exist. It is sheer nonsense to talk about sharing wealth WITH THE SHARING IN THE HAND OF A POLITICIAN. It is the same as expecting a Millennium without the Messiah. Sin will reign, until our Lord Jesus Christ Himself rules over this world as King of kings, and Lord of lords.." (Meditations in the Book of Psalms, p. 468, 1952 edition)

Republican politicians are digging their own graves
Tuesday, December 09, 2014
Jonathan Gruber’s excuse
“I’m not a politician, and I was using inexcusable language to make myself sound smarter than I really am.” He said it over and over to Trey Gowdy, House Oversight Committee, and said he was not a politician. But he sure did sound like one. He’s received over $6 million from the federal government. “Glib, thoughtless and inexcusable language” he said over and over.

Is Obama inept?
Unlike many conservatives who think Obama is a bad leader, dumb, crazy or inept, I tend toward the view he is deliberately trying to destroy the economy.
http://www.nationalreview.com/article/379654/obama-just-trying-tank-economy-stephen-moore#!
Raise minimum wage above market levels like FDR did (and half a million blacks lost their jobs); go around the Congress that voted the latest EPA regulations down because they realized what it would do to the economy; promote abortion in a country whose birth rate is already below replacement; encourage weak borders and nice perks for illegals so the non-existent citizens that were aborted can be replaced by outsiders; dumb down the education system so we can't compete in the world economy; destroy the best health care system in the world and make it even more expensive; allow a bloated bureaucracy to run the government and claim it's a complete mystery how these scandals got "whipped up."
No, that doesn't sound like a dumb or inept man--only dumb voters.

Weiner Matters--He's hired new staff
"Check this one out! In the past, Weiner would have to go online to Media Matters to read about what he was supposed to say that day. But now, Weiner has changed all that. He just hired someone from Media Matters to work as his press secretary!"
Weiner Facts » Blog Archive » Weiner Matters
I hope Mr. Weinger is grateful--before Glenn Beck, no one had heard of him, and in politics, name recognition is everything. Media Matters is the anti-Bush, anti-conservative, anti-American site that filters the news for liberals. It's funded, I've heard, by George Soros, the Hungarian Communist who has had great luck with capitalism.

Media coverage of the Congressional threats
- "Democrats seized on the reported violence to portray opponents as irresponsible. Republicans condemning the acts, charged Democrats with trying to make political hay."
You have to get to paragraph nine of Naftali's article today to learn that the Democrats have not just charged "opponents," but their Republican collegues specifically and not the progressives, socialists, or Communists who believe they had been betrayed by the Democrats with a weak bill giving concessions to insurance companies and lobbyists.
Democrats and their supporting actors in the press do not put the various crazies we've seen since Obama took office--Amy the Professorial Shooter, Stark the suicide pilot, Hasan the military doctor, or Awlaki the American Muslim cleric in their column of extremists. Oh goodness No. That wouldn't be good journalism. Wouldn't be prudent. But let a white haired, 80 year old, Tea Party participant give them the finger and they rush into the streets screaming "stranger danger" and then spend days rehashing it with Chris Matthews.
The truth is, just in case you are in the information cave called broadcast news, we have well-trained FBI and police to investigate threats of violence. Reporters and Congressmen should not be deciding who threatened whom. A nasty fax, a brick through a window and a shot fired are at opposite ends of the voilence spectrum, and so far, the Republican side of Congress is in more danger.

Just don't call it "health" care
If you want to know what government health insurance and government health care look or feel like, please read, “HIV Clinic” an essay by Eric P. Walker, in the March 3, 2010 issue of JAMA. The patient described therein has both health insurance (provided by the government for the poor) and health care (a clinic for the poor in her neighborhood).
According to Walker who is a physician’s assistant, the patient comes to the clinic for a prescription for pain but has to walk to the pharmacy to fill it, because her bus pass voucher has expired. There is no one to provide her private transportation (later in the essay you learn she is married to a creep who stole her pain medication). On the way to the clinic she bought a package of crackers at a gas station because she hadn’t eaten since yesterday. She can’t have surgery for her pain because she doesn’t have a stable address which the hospital, following government insurance regulations, requires for a patient to be discharged.
So let’s just stop right there Mr. Walker. First, you say you work in an HIV clinic, so I’m assuming she has been diagnosed and is receiving the drug cocktail that will extend her life. There are two primary ways for women to get HIV--1) having sex with a man who had sex with an infected man, or 2) through IV drug use. In my opinion, men who have sex with men and bring home STDs and AIDS and/or abuse their wives and girlfriends are a much bigger health problem for poor women than private insurance company CEOs who serve the middle class or Cadillac insurance for the wealthy and union members. When will those men be called before Congress and shamed?
Second, let’s think about all the unintended consequences of good intentions that have been building up dating back before you were born. Since that great leap forward known as the War on Poverty--programs that have contributed to her secondary conditions not related to HIV or her health. There is no pharmacy in her neighborhood to fill her prescription and probably no supermarkets or grocery stores where she can buy nutritious food. Democrats and Progressives control all major cities in the United States--Detroit, Chicago, LA, NOLA, Cleveland, etc. They first drove out all the small businesses through regulation, taxes, or pushing legislation for their inner-belts and highways taking land and homes through eminent domain. They railed against mom and pop stores and Asian shopkeepers that were charging “too much” for goods and service, compared to larger stores. Then they marched against any superstores moving in insisting they be unionized, after which they moved on to friendlier suburbs offering tax breaks. Currently in the name of saving the planet they are working through a variety of programs called cap and trade and sustainable agriculture to take away the stop and shop gas stations (remember Mr. Walker, gasoline is bad; processed food is bad) in poor neighborhoods, so soon that HIV patient probably won’t even be able to buy crackers in her neighborhood as she walks to the clinic to pick up her prescription which can‘t be filled locally.
Third, her central city community is fortunately served by public transportation which is tax subsidized by the suburbanite voters who moved away 30 years ago. Because she’s poor, she has a voucher for a bus pass. That’s got to be a Catch-22 nightmare only a bureaucrat with a social work degree could come up with. Does she have to go to a government agency in another neighborhood or city building and sit and wait to pay for the pass with her voucher issued by a different bureaucracy? It is dated, and it has expired. It’s not unreasonable to imagine that she would need to take the bus to the same office to apply for the voucher, but with no mail box, she might be turned down. It would be a good guess that the government didn’t give her a taxi voucher, or a handicapped van voucher, either because, 1) the bureaucrats decided she wasn’t that sick (years ago when she signed on for the alphabet soup of programs), or 2) because no thinking taxi or van driver would go into her crime ridden neighborhood which went down hill when all the businesses and home owners were driven out by do-gooders, or 3) they need to support the city transit system rather than a private company or small business like a one-man cab company.
Dear naive ObamaCare supporter: nothing in this so-called "health care bill" being pushed by Pelosi, Obama and Reid will help this woman. She already has government health insurance, and she’s still infected, still in pain, still denied necessary surgery, still homeless, still married to a creep, and still a victim of all the progressive politicians who destroyed her neighborhood 40 years ago.
And you want this for the rest of us?

A new element making the rounds
- Heaviest element discovered and named
Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California has now identified with certainty the heaviest element known to science.
The new element, Pelosium (PL), has one neutron, 25 assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons, and 198 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312.
These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons.
Pelosium is inert, and has no charge and no magnetism. Nevertheless, it can be detected because it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact. A tiny amount of Pelosium can cause a reaction that would normally take less than a second, to take from 4 days to 4 years to complete.
Pelosium has a normal half-life of 2 years. It does not decay, but instead undergoes a biennial reorganization in which a portion of the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places.
Pelosium mass will increase over time, since each reorganization will promote many morons to become isodopes.
This characteristic of moron promotion leads some scientists to believe that Pelosium is formed whenever morons reach a critical concentration. This hypothetical quantity is referred to as critical morass.
When catalyzed with money, Pelosium becomes Senatorium, an element that radiates just as much energy as Pelosium since it has half as many peons but twice as many morons.

Michelle Malkin
I wonder why the Obama White - "It is hard to measure the impact Michelle Malkin has had on the world of Internet political investigative journalism. She is not only the founder of her own site, michellemalkin.com, as well as the invaluable hotair.com site, but she has also been the inspiration of countless of other political sites. It is difficult to imagine that there would be a Newsmax, or a Smart Girl Politics, or even an African-American Conservatives, without the trailblazing of Ms. Malkin. She is to political blogging what Rush Limbaugh is to talk radio, and what William F. Buckley is to punditry. We are all in her debt."
- I would have liked to have seen more attention paid to both Valerie Jarrett and George Soros, who, as Obama’s most trusted advisor, and primary source of funds, respectively, deserve much more scrutiny than received in this book. Perhaps this will be forthcoming it later editions. Michelle Malkin makes clear in the interview she granted to our site that she considers Culture of Corruption to be a work in progress.
Others might have liked to have seen more of a right-wing attack on Obama. But I don’t see this as a “Conservative” book per se. True, there are numerous examples of Ms. Malkin wearing her conservatism on her sleeve throughout the book; but at heart she is not a Conservative pundit, philosopher, nor a political partisan. She is not Mark Levin railing against the statists or Ann Coulter explaining how if Democrats had brains, they’d be Republicans.

No health czar, no hearings, no choice
We've got it anyway. SCHIP protecting "children," who are adults, and electronic records snooping to make sure our doctors won't be able to give us too much help or quality care. On this one issue alone, the Republicans should have stopped the "hear no evil, see no evil, smell no stench" routine. Obama didn't need a single Republican vote to launch his war on the economy.- "Two provisions in President Barack Obama's economic stimulus plan could give the federal government the authority to oversee the medical decisions made between doctors and patients, critics warn, which could result in the rationing of health care." Story here.

The chart is from JWF, a site not known to me, but I was around then, and it looks familiar. If you disagree with the figures, take your questions to him. I recall paying 10.5% for a mortgage in 1988.

Rod Blagojevich, Obama, Bush, Frank, Pelosi, et al
And these are the public servants who want to tell us how to run the economy? And the world? For four years they've been investigating Illinois' governor, while he told the Illinois tax payers to tighten their belts, make grandma hostage at the nursing home with unpaid Medicaid bills, and close the local parks, even the ones that were self supporting. And Obama, the man with change and hope in his belly, heard and saw no evil, and spoke only beautiful rhetorical phrases. Meanwhile Blagojevich (is that hair real?) is negotiating a cushy job for himself and his wife with the Obama/Pelosi crowd. Will children's services remove the kids from an unfit home? This place sounds more corrupt than a few renegade Mormans. Who knew what when? Does it really matter? So, do you suppose this is what Biden tried to warn us about? Or was it some other disaster we're suppose to ignore and trust that our leaders know best? This post has a record number of question marks, at least for me. This Blagojevich story has left me only with questions. My condolences to the citizens of Illinois. I think it's time to clean up Chicago.
