This could be a real career boost, but did he really need the president jumping in?

The growing threat in Syria
Assad's thugs vs. jihadi thugs (of various bands). A monster against demons and devils. What we do know for sure is Obama will not make a decision. He's had more Americans killed in Afghanistan in 4 years than Bush in 8 just from his waffling in 2009. I don't want more Americans to die for these people's civil wars and idiotic beliefs. Let the Arabs go in and help. Let them find there are no WMD.
The great [sic] Thomas Friedman in 2003 recommended for the 40 year dictatorship in Syria: “if President Bush really wants to achieve his objectives in Iraq, he may have to sup a little with Yasir Arafat, the Iranian leader Ali Khamenei and Syria's president, Bashar al-Assad.”

Buttermilk bacon pralines
I haven’t tried this recipe, but it certainly sounds yummy.
Ingredients
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 tablespoon light corn syrup
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon coarse salt
4 tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped pecans
1/2 teaspoon orange zest
4 slices bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
Directions
1. In a heavy deep saucepan, combine the sugars, the buttermilk, corn syrup, baking soda and salt. Cook slowly over medium heat for about 20 minutes, until the mixture reaches 235 on a candy thermometer.
2. Remove from heat and add butter, vanilla, pecans, orange zest and bacon and beat with a wooden spoon until creamy. Be very careful - this stuff is HOT.
3. Drop by teaspoonsful onto a silicone mat or buttered parchment paper. Let stand for 30 minutes or until cool and firm.

Architects and Engineers may be losing money through inefficiency
June Jewell, a CPA and owner of Acuity Business Solutions consulting, says the architectural, engineering and environmental firms she works for easily lose $100,000 each year through inefficient and ineffective practices.
“Of course, sometimes the waste is much, much more – and this goes for larger and smaller businesses,” says Jewell, author of “Find the Lost Dollars: 6 Steps to Increase Profits in Architecture, Engineering, and Environmental Firms,” (www.FindTheLostDollars.com). “The problems are usually so fundamental to a business that they will never see why and how they’re bleeding money; they’re too close.”
There are several nooks and crannies in which firms are apt to lack efficiency. Jewell reviews three general areas where most of these firms can turn unnecessary losses to gains:
• Company culture: While the culture may vary somewhat from one firm to another, architectural, engineering and environmental firms share some of the same characteristics. One is that their founders tend to go into business because they’re creative people who love what they do -- not because they’re business people. So they don’t focus on profits, and they tend to be casual managers with regard to employees’ time. Shifting the culture to a focus of being profitable is not only necessary for sustaining the business; it allows creative people to do more of what they love.
• Ineffective practices: Of course, there are many moving parts in an A&E firm, which means there are many potential areas for improvement. That includes customer service, time management, marketing, strategic planning, accurate budgets and estimates, and the cost of lost opportunities. Failure to create an accurate, meticulous job estimate, for instance, can have multiple consequences, from having disappointed clients to jeopardize projects to losing money because time, materials and other costs were not accurately forecast.
• Systems & IT: This is the third way to improve business management and increase profits. Technology is able to help companies leverage their resources more effectively, yet many of them are still using outdated software and non-integrated systems. By looking at systems as a strategic investment that can help them to be more competitive, they can realize a great return on investment (ROI) from their projects. While the transition from old to new software has its cost in time and work, the efficiency gained in future work production is worth it.
“I’ve worked with hundreds of A&E firms in my 28 years of consulting, and I see these shared problems so often, I offer what I call ‘the $100K Challenge,’ ’’ Jewell says. “That’s a guarantee that I can work with any business that’s doing a few million dollars a year in business and find $100,000 they’re losing in profits.”
In this post-recession economy, she says, it’s vital for firms to tune up their business management practices in order to thrive.
June R. Jewell is a CPA and CEO of Acuity Business Solutions and has written a book, Find the Lost Dollars. Ginny Grimsley of News and Experts supplied the article.

The police have a lot more fire power than the citizens
This is what the Boston police had to track down 2 guys who maimed and killed with ordinary kitchen cooking tools. They finally lifted the ban and a man went outside to smoke and found one of the brothers in his boat. It is shocking that 2 terrorists managed to shut down a whole city and several suburbs and all we had was unarmed citizens (strict gun laws in Mass.) and police with tanks and machine guns. Scary. I’m sure this has sent a message all over the world.

Cancers caused by CT scans?
My cousin includes little snippets of medical information in her weekly news to friends and relatives. This keeps my library skills sharp because sometimes I look at the original source—if not the source she quotes, which is usually for lay people, then the cited research. After so many years in a medical library, I just like that stuff. So when I saw
“According to April 2013 “Health Alert”: CT scans=800 chest x-rays. Nuclear scans=2000 chest x-rays. Medicine causes 30,000 cancers annually. Drugs, medical procedures, surgeries and scans are the #1 cause of death in America every year.”
I decided to look it up. Health Alert which may have cited the sources is a fairly common title, so I skipped that. I haven’t found all of it, but I found several articles referring to a 2007 study, then found this editorial about CT scans in Arch Intern Med. 2009;169(22):2049-2050, which is a little easier to read than the research and provides some information on how the study on CT scans was done:
Although if they were using Medicare claims data, those patients mostly likely won’t be around in 20-30 years given that the reason they were having a CT scan in the first place might have put them at some sort of health risk. Also, it would be interesting (and I might look) to see how common CT scans are for younger people who are much healthier than the over 65 demographic. That said, Dr. Redberg’s advice about being cautious should be noted.
The other study by Bindman [free] noted in Archives reports a patient could get as much radiation from one CT scan as 74 mammograms or 442 chest X-rays. That’s less than cited in Health Alert, but still way more than one would expect. You would certainly want to weigh the benefits of so much radiation. Bindman also noted that CTs used to be recommended only for the very sick, and are now often used for people who are basically healthy and therefore exposing them to a lot of risk.

Obama’s slobbering love letter to Planned Parenthood
As long as we’ve got to fight to make sure women have access to quality, affordable health care, and as long as we’ve got to fight to protect a woman’s right to make her own choices about her own health, I want you to know that you’ve also got a president who’s going to be right there with you, fighting every step of the way. Thank you, Planned Parenthood. God bless you.
And no Mr. President, this isn’t the 1950s and we’re not going back there.
God bless you, (Planned Parenthood) Obama said
Adrienne Ross, a black elementary school teacher writes on her Facebook page, “How Christians support President Obama is beyond me. Totally beyond me. And the moment I understand it, please pray (and slap) me back to truth. Pray for him? Absolutely--and I do. But supporting him would require overlooking his radical encouragement of infanticide and abortion (not to mention his other faulty philosophies), and how could I possibly?”

Why we need to continue praying
for those who work in the abortion industry. Former Planned Parenthood worker, Abby Johnson comments:
I'm praying for Diana to leave the abortion industry.Four years ago, I sat at the head table of Planned Parenthood's annual gala. I sat there so proud of myself sitting next to Hillary Clinton and relishing in my "Employee Of the Year" award. I look back on that day and realize how lucky I am. I am so thankful for my family who never turned their backs on me. I am so thankful for a God who kept waiting on me to turn back to Him. I am thankful that He makes all things new. I am so thankful for those loving prolifers who prayed for me every day for eight years. And I am so thankful for all of you. Thank you for your prayers and loving me through this journey.

Thoughts on today’s library dedication
Former President George W. Bush closed his remarks at the opening of his Presidential Library with these important words (in the presence of President Obama). He choked up on the final sentence (as I do, too, with more hope than conviction!).
"In democracy, the purpose of public office is not to fulfill personal ambition. Elected officials must serve a cause greater than themselves.
"The political winds blow left and right, polls rise and fall, supporters come and go. But in the end leaders are defined by the convictions that they hold."
"I will always believe that our nation's best days lie ahead."

Will Congress and aides get an exemption?
Congressional leaders in both parties are engaged in high-level, confidential talks about exempting lawmakers and Capitol Hill aides from the insurance exchanges they are mandated to join as part of President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul, sources in both parties said.
The talks — which involve Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), the Obama administration and other top lawmakers — are extraordinarily sensitive, with both sides acutely aware of the potential for political fallout from giving carve-outs from the hugely controversial law to 535 lawmakers and thousands of their aides. Discussions have stretched out for months, sources said.

President Obama’s red line
Deadly gas in Syria? Let's not fall for this one again. Let's stay out of Muslim wars. They don't like us. It's their sandbox. Their religion. Their culture. We have nothing to offer them.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2013/apr/23/chemical-weapons-red-line-obama
Obama has already expanded the wars in the middle east and he hasn’t resolved the ones we’re in. He’s lost more military in Afghanistan in 4 years than Bush did in 8, probably because of the dawdling and diddling he did in 2009. This is not a man you want to follow into war. He hates the military, and has never been a soldier. Bad. Bad.
Interview with the Bush women April 25, 2013
Enjoyed seeing them on NBC this morning. Barbara Bush is as outspoken as ever. Not a single thing she misses about Washington, she said. Also on Jeb running for president? “There are other people out there that are very qualified and we’ve had enough Bushes.” Baby Mila isn’t at the library opening, although 5 presidents are.
The link between autism and oral contraceptives
Birth control came around the same time that autism was diagnosed at around 1 in 10,000 and now, with widespread birth control use, the number of autism cases has skyrocketed. Is there a connection? I certainly think so--and it's in every flush that goes through the water system, so everyone gets it in combination with all the hormones in our food.
http://www.examiner.com/article/autism-and-birth-control-pills-what-is-the-connection
Oral contraceptives are a huge money maker for the pharmaceutical industry, and a huge political football for this president. I doubt we will ever see large government grants to study the relationship.

The opening of the Bush Center in Texas
George W. Bush's popularity is up. That happens with most presidents, but usually not in 5 years. History judges them.
Obama has helped that by not bringing the troops home, not closing GITMO, redefining terrorism as workplace violence, or just ignoring it, by taking credit for the killing of Osama bin Laden, when it was the "interrogation" techniques of the Bush era that provided the intelligence, by flubbing and lying about Benghazi, by dancing on the graves of the poor dead children of Sandy Hook for his personal political gain, by rushing to mega storm Sandy, which made no difference in the recovery and the victims suffered for months, by worsening race relations by constantly playing the race card, by raising taxes on everyone with his lies about healthcare, by crony capitalism worse than Bush-Cheney fans could have imagined which has enriched the "fat cats" he loves to criticize, and by exhibiting extremely poor taste in his family's hedonistic life style while so many people still suffer from the recession.
Yes, Bush will probably be glad to see him and shake the hand of the man who made America miss him.

Our culture approves abortion, looks down on adoption
From PDHC April Praise Report:
‘Molly (not her name) a 20-year-old woman, came to PDHC intent on having an abortion. She is in college and already has a baby. She's in a relationship, but her parents do not approve of her boyfriend. They've helped with her first baby and she was afraid that they would be unhappy and not want to help her again. We talked with Molly about her options and the importance of having an ultrasound done before she would make a decision. Molly was very upset during the appointment and cried. She felt torn. She didn't believe in abortion but felt she had no other choice. During the ultrasound, the nurse was able to find a heartbeat and dated the pregnancy at six weeks. Molly did not want to see the ultrasound screen and refused pictures. The nurse spoke with her about her concerns and shared resources that could help should she decide to continue the pregnancy. She left the appointment undecided. A few days later, our nurse called with the physician's review and Molly said that after talking things over more with her boyfriend she had decided to continue the pregnancy! Our nurse gave her more information about how to get started with prenatal care and other resources. She also invited her to come back to PDHC for maternity clothes and parenting classes. “
40-50 years ago this would have been a no-brainer. She knows this is a sibling of her child; a grandchild of her parents; knows what it is to be a mother. Why snuff out a life that others would welcome?
Let’s not shed more blood for Islamic civil wars
Civil war in Syria. Weapons of mass destruction. Gas poisoning. Hmmm. Haven't we heard that before? As a reason for going to war? Would it be different just because Obama is president, who incidentally, hasn't really gotten us out of Afghanistan and Iraq, and has lost more military in Afghanistan than Bush did. I'm really not willing to shed more blood for people who hate our culture, religion and way of life.
“American Muslims tell us that Islam is a religion of peace. Jihadist leaders abroad describe Islam as a religion of war against infidels. Who is correct? Both are correct.”
Step by step
“The U.S. Department of Education began operating on May 4, 1980, and things started to change. People’s patriotic behavior and protectiveness of their culture, of their language, of the capitalist system in general that made them the most prosperous nation on earth, began to erode more and more overtly. Among the culprits were teachers who advanced personal socialist agendas to impressionable youth who believed every word they said. “
http://usactionnews.com/2013/04/common-core-and-cscope-propaganda-in-education/
A lot of things happened in the 70s and 80s and education of children is just one component. CSCOPE and Common Core need to be looked at very carefully in every community. Expanding the role of the federal government into compulsory, tax-supported pre-schools needs to be stopped.
Democrats voted for higher taxes on the poor by reelecting Obama
Everyone by 2015 will be paying more taxes under the President's plan--except of course, those who don't pay any taxes. Although even the poor get to pay more taxes for their cigarettes--the poor and less educated do not respond to price pressure so most will continue to smoke anyway. Cigarette excise taxes are regressive--lower income smokers spend a disproportionate share of their income on cigarette taxes compared to smokers with greater incomes . In NY from 2003–2004 to 2010–2011, the percentage of income spent on cigarettes for smokers with annual incomes less than $30,000 more than doubled (11.6% to 23.6%). These taxes really hurt the poor--and the first tax Obama passed in 2009 was $1 on cigarettes. He's not the first president to lie about taxes, but we've got more gullible voters these days. And they ARE educated.

Bishop Watterson High School
Students at Bishop Watterson High School in Columbus, Ohio are petitioning and organizing to have a gay teacher reinstated. Unless they wish to attend a government school, this is a bad idea. Unlike Protestants who protest and regroup at the slightest secular wind change, Catholics have a few more restrictions. Protestants get to have the burden of private interpretation of scripture and see the pope in the mirror every morning; Roman Catholics do not. The government has already destroyed the Catholic adoption agencies by insisting children be placed, not for their best interest, but the desires of the adopting couple. Let's not destroy a very fine school system by misguided beliefs about the purpose of sexuality.
The brothers Tsarnaev
People are being quick to judge the current administration for failures to apprehend the Tsarnaev brothers before they assembled their arsenal and bombs (in a state with strict gun control). I'll wait (surprise!). There are hundreds of plots foiled that we never hear of. It's a huge country; there are big cities; and how watched do we want to be to prevent this?
That said, if our media were more diligent and less worried about offending some ethnic group, and if they they took their eyes off Sarah Palin and the Tea Party once in awhile, they might actually be a help in protecting us. It makes me yearn for the days of the Watergate investigation and the Bush derangement syndrome. With the way the MSM portrays this country, sometimes I wonder if they are a hate group trying to discourage immigrants from coming here so they can hang on to all the good jobs.
And if the Obama Administration had not been so careless about classifying Ft. Hood and the recruitment office killings, it might have been able to send a stronger message about what the U.S. security forces would tolerate.
I really don't think you can learn explosives and bombs just using the internet. It takes some practice and support. Most people can't even light firecracker flares without getting hurt. I hope the FBI, DHS and police don't follow the President's reasoning that this is over. They've found the YouTube videos, and these aren't the only young men flexing their hatred for America.
Columbine anniversary April 20
Why does the left wing media like to portray Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold of the Columbine killings as white supremists? Apparently because it was April. The McVeigh killings were in April. And he wasn’t part of a conspiracy either. Or they need more chalk marks on the right side of the board. They were kids! They weren't bullied, they weren't outcasts, and they had good parents. The left just can't fathom evil, because they don't understand good.

Boston won’t give him a choice of words
Obama wouldn't call it terrorism, but Arkansas will.
"Senate Bill 630, which passed 35-0 and goes to the House, is known as “Andy’s Law” in honor of U.S. Army Pvt. William “Andy” Long of Conway, who was shot and killed outside a west Little Rock recruiting center in 2009. Pvt. Quinton Ezeagwula of Jacksonville was wounded in the shooting rampage."
Andy was killed by Abdulhakim Muhammad an American Muslim who had traveled to Yemen and Somalia for training. Survivors of the Ft. Hood massacre also have had no justice from Obama, who calls it "work place violence."
What’s wrong with these people?
They are liberals. And they were partially right; the brothers are white (ethnic Chechens although they never lived there), and one was a citizen of the USA, having come here as a child. I’m guessing if the citizen ever voted, it was for Obama.
Dina seems to be a few bales short of a full load. Hitler’s one party system was called “National Socialism,” and the Columbine shooters were into Goth and video games and Timothy McVeigh was protesting the use of military force by the U.S. government in Serbia and Iraq, and the government attacked the Branch Davidian, a religious cult for gun infractions.
“The thinking, as we have been reporting, is that this is a domestic, extremist attack and officials are leaning that way largely because of the timing of the attack. April is a big month for anti-government and right-wing individuals. There’s the Columbine anniversary, there’s Hitler’s birthday, there’s the Oklahoma City bombing, the assault on the Branch Davidian compound in Waco.”
Dina Temple-Raston, NPR, whose salary is paid for with my tax dollars.
The Massachusetts gun laws
The Brothers Tsarnaev had an awful lot of fire power. Were they properly registered and licensed with fingerprinting and criminal background checks as their state required regardless of how and where the guns were acquired? And were their magazines limited to ten rounds as required by Massachusetts law? Or were they just two more criminals who ignore gun laws?
The Casabella flex duster
I've joined the 21st century. No more old socks and t-shirts. Today I bought a Casabella microfiber washable flex duster, and am having a blast flicking and picking up dust from lamps, computers, picture frames, cool air returns and stair banisters. http://www.neatlysmart.com/catalog/item.aspx?sku=72917&gclid=CPnsuZus2bYCFaVcMgodZB0AtA
I got a little too enthusiastic, and accidentally reset the thermostat dusting it. My husband came up from his office when it started heating up, and said, "Why did you reset the thermostat to 80?"
Follow the money
The trial of Kermit Gosnell, the ghoulish late term abortionist of Philadelphia, must have the pro-abortion folks worried. Even though the main stream media didn’t cover it, the news is getting around through social media. As in photos of babies’ feet in jars, and of spinal cords snipped. For the first time I can remember, I'm hearing radio ads on behalf of Planned Parenthood. The word abortion is never used; nor birth control; or even reproduction. Just access to health. Breast cancer is higher in women who abort their first pregnancy; suicide rate is higher for women who abort. Whose health? Planned Parenthood’s. Follow the money. Abortion is its money-maker. And minorities its target.
Planned Parenthood has ridden the waves of taxpayer funding to millions of dollars in annual surpluses. Last year [2012], like many before it, Planned Parenthood saw a very comfortable income, reporting excess revenues exceeding $87 million and net assets of more than $1.2 billion. The Foundry
Matthews, Moore, O’Donnell, Sirota, Bergen, Axelrod. . . and others
I can't think of any recent events that have been the result of right wing conspiracies, and certainly the Tea Party has been nothing but peaceful and patriotic, so why do the MSM go this route time after time? Eventually, they’ll probably be right—but the “real right” like Hitler, were Socialists, aka National Socialism. The KKK was created by the Democrat Party, as were Jim Crow laws and lynching to terrorize blacks into submission.
Arizona, Aurora, Sandy Hook, the Austin plane attack (2010) by the guy who didn’t like the IRS, the guys who murdered the army recruiters, and the various vandalism at recruiting stations, the woman who hated her promotion and tenure committee so she blew them away—none of these people were right wingers, or even particularly political. They were evil or mentally deranged. Even Timothy McVeigh 18 years ago was a loner and not part of any group plot. In his letter to the media he justifies his actions as being anti-military—bombing Serbia and Iraq at the time. That doesn’t sound very right wing to me. And he was executed for his crimes. Have we executed Muslims for their crimes? Isn't the guy who shot Bobby Kennedy still in prison? The American Muslim who shot up Ft. Hood? Has he been executed?
This latest attack by the Chechen brothers the MSM can proudly say, was from “home grown, white terrorists,” like some hoped, but immigrants from the former Soviet Union. One a citizen, the other a legal resident. But they are most likely a part of a global philosophy that these liberals in the media and buddies of the president just can't seem to recognize.

COFFEE FILTERS
Who knew! And you can buy 1,000 at the Dollar Tree for almost nothing even the large ones.
1. Cover bowls or dishes when cooking in the microwave. Coffee filters make excellent covers.
2. Clean windows, mirrors, and chrome. Coffee filters are lint-free so they'll leave windows sparkling.
3. Protect China by separating your good dishes with a coffee filter between each dish.
4. Filter broken cork from wine. If you break the cork when opening a wine bottle, filter the wine through a coffee filter.
5. Protect a cast-iron skillet. Place a coffee filter in the skillet to absorb moisture and prevent rust.
6. Apply shoe polish. Ball up a lint-free coffee filter.
7. Recycle frying oil. After frying, strain oil through a sieve lined with a coffee filter.
8. Weigh chopped foods. Place chopped ingredients in a coffee filter on a kitchen scale.
9. Hold tacos. Coffee filters make convenient wrappers for messy foods.
10. Stop the soil from leaking out of a plant pot. Line a plant pot with a coffee filter to prevent the soil from going through the drainage holes.
11. Prevent a Popsicle from dripping. Poke one or two holes as needed in a coffee filter.
12. Do you think we used expensive strips to wax eyebrows? Use strips of coffee filters..
13. Put a few in a plate and put your fried bacon, French fries, chicken fingers, etc. on them. It soaks out all the grease.
14. Keep in the bathroom. They make great "razor nick fixers."
15. As a sewing backing. Use a filter as an easy-to-tear backing for embroidering or appliqueing soft fabrics.
16. Put baking soda into a coffee filter and insert into shoes or a closet to absorb or prevent odors.
17. Use them to strain soup stock and to tie fresh herbs in to put in soups and stews.
18. Use a coffee filter to prevent spilling when you add fluids to your car.
19. Use them as a spoon rest while cooking and clean up small counter spills.
20. Can use to hold dry ingredients when baking or when cutting a piece of fruit or veggies. Saves on having extra bowls to wash.
21. Use them to wrap Christmas ornaments for storage.
22. Use them to remove fingernail polish when out of cotton balls.
23. Use them to sprout seeds. Simply dampen the coffee filter, place seeds inside, fold it and place it into a plastic baggie until they sprout.
24. Use coffee filters as blotting paper for pressed flowers. Place the flowers between two coffee filters and put the coffee filters in phone book.
25. Use as a disposable "snack bowl" for popcorn, chips, etc.

Short attention span? Shorter books.
The hottest book publishing trend today--less is the new more, says Michael Levin, founder and CEO of BusinessGhost, Inc., who has written more than 100 books.
“The first time I saw a 73-page ‘book’ offered on Amazon, I was outraged,” says New York Times best selling author Michael Levin. “But I thought about how shredded the American attention span is. And I felt like Cortez staring at the Pacific.”
The trend in books today, Harry Potter notwithstanding, is toward books so short that in the past no self-respecting publisher—or author—would even have called them books. But today, shortened attention spans call for shorter books.
Levin blames smartphones and social media for what he calls “a worldwide adult epidemic of ADH, ooh, shiny!”
“Brain scientists tell us our brain chemistry has been transformed by short-burst communication such as texting, Tweeting, and Facebook posts,” Levin adds. “Long magazine articles have given way to 600-word blog posts. And doorstop-size books have been replaced by mini-books.”
This sudden change in attention spans changed the way Levin approaches ghostwriting. “Even five years ago, we aimed for 250-page books. Today we advise our business clients to do 50-page mini-books to meet impatient readers’ expectations for speedy delivery of information.”
Levin, who runs the ghostwriting firm BusinessGhost.com and was featured on ABC’s Shark Tank, says that people are looking for leadership disguised as a book. “Today,” he asserts, “people don’t want you to prove your assertions. They just want to know that you have legitimate answers to their questions and that they can trust you. If you can’t get buy-in with 50 pages today, you won’t get it in 250.”
The trend toward shorter books caused Levin to offer what he calls the “Book-Of-The-Quarter Club,” which creates four 50-page hardcover mini-books a year for BusinessGhost’s clients. “This allows them to address four different major issues, or four different sets of prospects, and provides quarterly opportunities for marketing events,” Levin says.
How short will books eventually run?
“Can you say ‘haiku’?” Levin asks. “We’re waiting for a three-line, 17 syllable book. It could happen.”
This article was supplied by Ginny Grimsley and the content is hers. Levin’s new mini-book, “The Financial Advisor's Dilemma,” teaches how to create trust and distinctiveness in the highly competitive marketplace.
Guest blogger Murray on the “liberal” media
The other day I read the news article from the Huffington Post on the Internet about Obama claiming the gun lobbyists lied to the members of Congress and that's why the gun legislation didn't pass. I commented at the site:
HuffPo: “Obama placed blame on the gun lobby during his remarks."The gun lobby and its allies willfully lied about the bill," Obama said.”
Murray: “If anyone knows about lying it's Obama. He's done that throughout his entire political career. How about the B.S. when he claimed he was at the hospital while his mother died because she had no medical insurance."
The next day I received this notice from Huffington:

A message from Allen West
"Let me be very clear, the terrorist attack in Boston and evolving events indicate we have a domestic radical Islamic terror problem in America. We must no longer allow the disciples of political correctness and the acolytes of the Muslim Brotherhood (CAIR, ISNA, MPAC, MAS) to preach to us some misconceived definition of tolerance and subservience. When tolerance becomes a one way street it leads to cultural suicide. Carlos Bledsoe in Little Rock, MAJ Hasan in Ft Hood, the Ft Dix Six, Faisal Shahazad in NYC Times Square -- these are just the examples I can type now. When Rep Peter King attempted to have hearings on domestic terrorism he was attacked for being racist. No more excuses. No more apologies. We are in a war of ideological wills, and we shall prevail. Congratulations to all the law enforcement agencies."

September 11 vs. April 15
Liberal media denied that Sept. 11, 2012 could have any significance for the Benghazi attacks, but for some reason thought April 15 must hold great importance for right wing Americans, obviously suspect in the Boston bombing. Hey guys--most of us have the tax money confiscated all year long so it is ready for redistribution.
At the White House, by Paula Priesse
Michelle: “How did your day go dear?”
Obama: “Not good, even with a Dem Senate gun legislation went down in flames. So I threw a hissy fit.”
Michelle: “That’s too bad.”
O: “I’m just getting started. A union now wants Obamacare repealed. And co-author Sen. Max Baucus said it could be a ‘huge train wreck.’ Traitor!”
Michelle: “Well you can hardly blame him. He’s up for re-election in 2014.”
O: “I’m not done. I had to dodge my first question on Gosnell.”
Michelle: “Uh oh.”
O: “It gets even worse! CBS News reports there are now multiple whistleblowers stepping forward on Benghazi.”
Michelle: “Sorry, but you knew the truth about Obamacare & Benghazi would come out eventually.”
O: “Oh pretty please, let the Boston bombers be Tea Partiers! Dividing the nation is the only way I know how to lead. Hold me Moochie, I’m scared.”
Michelle: “Forget it, I’m taking the girls on vacation. Don’t want them to see that their father is a big LOSER!” P
Should we be looking to Europe for guidance in health care?
In Europe they are combining euthanasia and organ harvesting how-to symposia to specifically target the disabled. Their organs are less likely to be damaged by diseases or accidents. Remember those death panels that weren't in Obamacare? They were in the Stimulus. Hitler went after the disabled before he targeted the Jews. It's important to desensitize the populace. Even liberals can get squeamish.
http://www.west-info.eu/belgium-euthanasia-transplantation-organs/
In Holland and Belgium they are probably wondering what the fuss is about in the Kermit Gosnell trial. The Lancet reports that about 8% of their infants who die--80-90 a year--are euthanized. And that was 1997--probably higher today. Sure, Gosnell was messy and spreading diseases to his patients, but the babies? Collateral damage of the pro-abortion, pro-euthanasia, anti-life movement. Perhaps the Nazis won after all?

Margaret Thatcher
The world recognized her greatness. Obama recognized her power as a symbol, even in death, and chose to dishonor her.
It’s been a tough week
So thankful for all the first responders and volunteers who selflessly stepped up to save lives in Boston and West, Texas.
At the nursing home in Texas, one man pulled out 16 people from the collapsed building.

Students petition to have gay teacher rehired at Catholic high school in Columbus.
Her lesbian relationship appeared in a public way--the newspaper. I'm sure the school authorities knew, and there was a tacit agreement about her not announcing her relationship which she apparently did in her mother's obituary by announcing her partner as a survivor. There are thousands and thousands of Protestant churches that have no over site except the local congregation, no magisterium and no pope (except the one in the mirror). Where 2 or 3 are gathered, they create a new church to fit their private interpretation of scripture.
If all those students signed the petition, then their parents have wasted a lot of money on private school tuition, or the school has done some very poor religious instruction. Remove the nature of the firing and replace it with something else the church teaches, such as denying the sacraments, or the real presence in the Eucharist, or teaching birth control methods in health class. Would she be on staff?
This happened with the ELCA. Lesbians were ordained as pastors decades ago with the agreement they would remain celibate. They changed their minds and ripped the church apart for 2 decades, ending in a split and the formation of a new synod. Essentially, they said scripture and church rules didn’t matter, only their private interpretation. Over the years, each proposal and compromise failed, until finally, a few years ago, the gay lobby won and the synod split. http://www.nbc4i.com/story/22006466/bishop-watterson-pe-teacher-talks-to-nbc4-after-dismissal
Chocolate Lasagna—looks criminally delicious
INGREDIENTS
1 package regular Oreo cookies (Not Double Stuff) – about 36 cookies
6 Tablespoon butter, melted
1- 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened
... 1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 Tablespoons cold milk
1- 12 ounce tub Cool Whip, divided
2 – 3.9 ounce packages Chocolate Instant Pudding.
3 1/4 cups cold milk
1 and 1/2 cups mini chocolate chips
DIRECTIONS
1. Begin by crushing 36 Oreo cookies. I used my food processor for this, but you could also place them in a large zip lock bag and crush them with a rolling pin. When the Oreos have turned into fine crumbs, you are done.
2. Transfer the Oreo crumbs to a large bowl. Stir in 6 tablespoons melted butter and use a fork to incorporate the butter into the cookie crumbs. When the butter is distributed, transfer the mixture to a 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Press the crumbs into the bottom of the pan. Place the pan in the refrigerator while you work on the additional layers.
3. Mix the cream cheese with a mixer until light and fluffy. Add in 2 Tablespoons of milk, and sugar, and mix well. Stir in 1 and 1/4 cups Cool Whip. Spread this mixture over the crust.
4. In a bowl, combine chocolate instant pudding with 3 and 1/4 cups cold milk. Whisk for several minutes until the pudding starts to thicken. Use a spatula to spread the mixture over the previous cream cheese layer. Allow the dessert to rest for about 5 minutes so that the pudding can firm up further.
5. Spread the remaining Cool Whip over the top. Sprinkle mini chocolate chips evenly over the top. Place in the freezer for 1 hour, or the refrigerator for 4 hours before serving.
Self-hatred among liberals
David J. Sirota is a male, white American liberal, a political commentator and radio host based in Denver who writes for Slate. Apparently he said something so stupid, it is hard to believe. He said or tweeted or wrote that he hoped the bomber looks just like him (that's a paraphrase). Can you imagine a Mexican American or an African American or an Iranian American saying that? What self hate and guilt consumes these white liberals. Maybe they really do know what their toxic politics are doing to babies and minorities?
Based on the fact that most violent crimes are committed by males, and that whites are the majority in the country, their ancestors having come here from Europe to escape centuries of oppression, Marxism and dictatorships, that wouldn't be a bad guess. However, few men know how to use pressure cookers. (Unless they can tomatoes.) Really, you men should be embarrassed to claim him.
Axelrod and Frank, doing what the left does best—blame first, investigate late
Regardless of who the terrorist is found to be in the Boston bombing, whether he be singleton or a groupie enamored of a philosophy that doesn't like American freedoms and symbols, our left leaning media and politicians seem bent on finding blame not among their own policies of down playing the seriousness of international terrorism, but on the right. After all, even the word had been struck from the official vocabulary, but there it was-- the deed.
Has the Tea Party caused mob disruptions like the Occupiers the media excused for every indecency and burned building?
Have abortion protestors caused the mayhem, disease and death perpetrated by abortionist Dr. Gosnell?
Who has been in the streets marching against taxes on April 15? I haven’t heard of a single story. Stories of Obama’s 18% tax rate, yes, I did hear that.
Were the first responders not quick enough that we should think higher taxes would have prevented this?
Barney Frank, political hack, and political strategist David Axelrod seem to be really messed up. They admitted they knew nothing, but shifted blame anyway.
Humor in headlines: Family held captive. . .
There’s a story in the Washington Post about a “Loudoun family held captive in home-invasion robbery.” A reader suggests a better story line and says he’s unemployed and looking for a job—and could do a better job. Personally, I always thought “home-invasion” was over kill for break-in. And why are we left to speculate about the weapon? “. . . used a weapon to hold the family against their will, authorities said.” Was it a gun? A pressure cooker? A box cutter?
Obama and the polls
President Obama bases his gun control efforts on poll results that claim we the people want more restrictions on access to guns (he doesn't like the Constitution, especially those pesky amendments).
"The notion that Congress would defy the overwhelming instinct of the American people after what we saw happen in Newtown, I think, is unimaginable." NBC Today show
When has he ever listened to what we the people want about lower taxes, fewer regulations killing the economy, his take over of the health care industry, his drones killing innocent civilians, his reluctance for a thorough Benghazi investigation, or even something as simple as sending a high ranking official to Margaret Thatcher's funeral? He manipulates the wording of the gun polls to suit his campaign to win back the House for Democrats
President Obama claims that polls show the overwhelming majority of Americans want to make it tougher for criminals and the mentally ill to own guns. Then he proposes legislation that will restrict only non-criminals and non-mentally ill. At least, my definition of a criminal is someone who doesn’t obey the laws.

An insult to our ally, Great Britain
When John Atta Mills, the President of Ghana, died last year, then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton personally led the delegation to his funeral. But everyone knows Ghana is more important to our history and alliances than Great Britain. Obama can't pull anyone away from this gun control efforts, so everyone is too busy to honor Margaret Thatcher. Of course, that's bogus. He believes the free market and capitalism isn't important, and that is what she represents, so he won't honor her.
Bombs bump bugs
Democrats will probably be happy this story of bugging will be bumped by the bombing tragedy in Boston. Democrats bugging Republican Mitch McConnell office. Where are the Watergate investigators when you need them? Well, they were Democrats.

Just for "fun" I decided to read through the privacy rights I was giving away in order to complete a store survey (in order to enter a sweepstakes). I had to click through a number of hot links to even get to this level. Reminds me very much of HIPAA, which by the time you read through all the ways your privacy is protected, everyone except possibly the janitorial service has access to your medical records.

I think the Boston Bombers will be caught.
Update from START on Global Terrorism
“START’s Global Terrorism Database (GTD) records 16 terrorist attacks that have occurred in Boston since 1970, but only three since 1990. The most recent recorded terrorist attack occurred in November 1995 when an explosion occurred at the Boston-based headquarters of the Christian Science community. This 1995 bombing caused no fatalities.
According to the GTD, Boston has been the 14th most frequently targeted U.S. city by terrorists in the past 40+ years. Houston, Texas, has similarly experienced 16 attacks during this period. New York (430 attacks) is by far the most frequently targeted U.S. city, with Los Angeles (103 attacks) the second most common target.
The majority of Boston’s terrorist activity occurred in the 1970s, with Black nationalists responsible for five of the 12 attacks during that decade. Violent White supremacists and violent far-leftists were also active in Boston during this time.
There have been two fatal terrorist attacks in Boston since 1970, both classified as assassinations: In 1992, Iwao Matsuda—the president of a Japanese university—was assassinated in his hotel during a visit to Boston; in 1995, Paul McLaughlin—a prosecutor specializing in gang-related cases—was shot in his car in a parking lot in the city. “

From bomber to Professor at the University of Illinois
Bill Ayers got his start doing what yesterday's bomber did. And today, he's a retired faculty member of the University of Illinois, a good friend of our President who helped him get elected, and speaks at workshops for educators of your children. It's not surprising that the president has a problem with the T-word. Ayers is also a visiting scholar at Minnesota State University.
http://dailycaller.com/2013/01/21/bill-ayers-to-keynote-national-teacher-conference-in-february/
''I don't regret setting bombs,'' Bill Ayers said. ''I feel we didn't do enough.'' Mr. Ayers, who spent the 1970's as a fugitive in the Weather Underground, was sitting in the kitchen of his big turn-of-the-19th-century stone house in the Hyde Park district of Chicago.
I wonder what the parents of the 8 year old boy killed yesterday think of Ayers idea of social justice? Or Krystle Campbell’s parents?
“Hordon HEALTH lost a member of its extended family yesterday at the Boston Marathon. Her name was Krystle Campbell, and she died instantly yesterday at the bombings. Krystle could easily have been described as the salt of the earth, but her complexity demands more… “
A President, a Prime Minister and a Pope changed the world
Outrageous. Obama is sending no one to Thatcher's funeral, so Boehner will. Any doubt about this president now? The White House is too busy flogging the gun control issue and dancing on the graves of dead children so it can get back the House.
Boehner: “Margaret Thatcher was one of the greatest champions freedom has ever known, and her funeral gives Americans and friends around the world an opportunity to pay final respects,” Boehner said. “I’m pleased that Congressman Blackburn will lead a House delegation to Baroness Thatcher’s funeral to communicate our prayers and condolences to her family and the British people.”
Bachmann and Holding will also attend from the House.

Mastermind of 1993 bombing is on social media
The Kitchen Cabinet reports, "The blind sheik, convicted of orchestrating the deadly World Trade Center bombing 20 years ago, has benefited from a sophisticated social media messaging machine despite serving life in prison in a solitary confinement cell in North Carolina.
And federal authorities can’t do anything to stop Sheik Omar Abdel-Rahman because his family is running the show on YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and a website hosted in the United States - and there's nothing illegal in the content of the sites' messages. The various social media channels are keeping his devoted followers connected to his Islamist teachings and calls from extremists to have him released from prison.
Abdel-Rahman’s sons, along with other devoted followers, run the operations from Egypt, and his official website, Sheikh-omar.com, is hosted by a server company operating in Chicago, according to a report by the Middle East Media Research Institute. MEMRI is a respected nonprofit, nonpartisan website that covers the Middle East and terrorism issues and hosts the archives of the late congressman Tom Lantos, D-Calif., one of the country's premier experts on foreign policy.
The report, written by Steven Stalinsk, details all the blind sheik’s multimedia pages available to the public on the Internet. Abdel-Rahman’s official website has nearly 8,000 people who have signed a petition seeking his release and was created June 24, 2010. It includes updates on the blind sheik, as well as his group Gama’at al-Islamia, the report says."

I’m not so sure there’s nothing that can be done. Facebook bumps people all the time for far less serious reasons.

Age of consent is 16 in Connecticut
But apparently it’s never consensual if it’s a teacher and student. She certainly sounds like she was consenting.
Farmington police said the allegations date back to 2010 and involve a now-former student who said that Rajkumar started groping her when she was 15 and that they had sex after she turned 17. The girl told police that she and Rajkumar had sex several times during some weeks, and that they had sex in a closet in his classroom.
The Gosnell trial about which the left knew nothing
The jury in the murder trial of Kermit Gosnell was told this morning that the embattled abortion practitioner kept at least 47 babies in odd places at his clinic such as cat food jars and other containers.
http://www.lifenews.com/2013/04/15/jury-told-gosnell-kept-47-aborted-babies-in-cat-food-containers/
Gosnell’s wife whom he married in 1990 helped with the business. I wonder what happened to his first wife, if there was one.
It’s not an urban legend
Snopes.com has had to publish an item about Gosnell snipping the spinal cords of born alive infants and that no, this isn't an urban legend. That's what happens when the media fail to report, and word starts getting out. People wonder how this could be if they didn't know about his trial. Now the media are saying, yes, but he's the exception. How do we know that? We know skulls are routinely crushed in the birth canal; what's a few inches in the life of a child? People who knew him for years thought everything about him was professional and caring. http://www.allaboutlifechallenges.org/late-term-abortion.htm
So you are pro-choice
and you voted for Obama and you are loyal to the Democratic party to the death. You didn’t vote for this, did you?
“One woman…was left lying in place for hours after Gosnell tore her cervix and colon while trying, unsuccessfully, to extract the fetus. Relatives who came to pick her up were refused entry into the building; they had to threaten to call the police. They eventually found her inside, bleeding and incoherent, and transported her to the hospital, where doctors had to remove almost half a foot of her intestines.”

Philadelphia Department of Health complicit in Gosnell killings
It's great that we're passing the news along about Kermit Gosnell [which the media have ignored], killer of women and babies in Philadelphia. But now the focus needs to shift to the health department which turned a blind eye for over a decade, while this man made millions. Hospitals reported the damaged women that were coming to them. Injured patients reported Gosnell. Their reports went nowhere. One of the health department officials was a doctor who when in private practice had been referring teens to Gosnell. The women and babies were primarily poor and minority. I doubt that this collapse of public health is limited to Pennsylvania. Our local agencies are afraid to do anything about abortion clinics. Helping the poor is often just a platform for building a power base.
When a mentally ill man kills his mother and shoots up a school it is news 24/7 for weeks and the President takes the dead with him on a campaign tour to regain the House. When Gosnell kills far more for decades, making himself a millionaire, it is ignored by the media and the White House.
Where are the media? Where’s the outrage from my liberal friends and family?
"For all of the historical accounts and professed concerns over the CIA's detention and extraordinary rendition program, which involved '136 known victims,' it is time for an accounting of the CIA's drone strikes, which have killed between 3,000 and 4,000 people in Pakistan and Yemen," Micah Zenko writes. So, where are our vigilant friends in the media? Hiding out with the Syrian gun running? They were certainly on top of every failure and disaster during the Bush years. Must have used up all their smarts, and have become deaf, dumb and blind on behalf of Obama.

The Democrats health plan for African Americans
If you’ve never heard of Kermit Gosnell, you’re watching CBS, NBC and ABC; CNN has mentioned his trial once. Compare that coverage to the Rutgers coach or the Kardashian baby watch.
Might work for a pitch in dinner
Or football watching, but I wouldn’t want to leave them around the house. Too tempting for snacks.

Our freedom of the press—abused and aborted
We know the Democrat party officially supports abortion for any reason at any time. Therefore, when a tragic story involving the truth and horror of abortion hits the front pages, our main stream media has to run and hide as an apologist for the Democrats and President Obama, who as an Illinois Senator was willing to deny health care to a newly born American, whose mother intended for it to be aborted. Finally, this past week, USA Today and The Atlantic have published two opinion pieces from Democrats on the failure of the media to report on the murder of women and babies, and the filth and horror of Gosnell’s abortion clinic.

Trafficking in persons, United States, 2008-2010
Data from the Human Trafficking Reporting System (HTRS)
Most confirmed human trafficking suspects were male (81%), while 19% were female. Based on cases in which race was known, nearly two-thirds (62%) of confirmed sex trafficking suspects were identified as black. Confirmed labor trafficking suspects were more likely to be identified as Hispanic (48%). Most suspects in confirmed sex trafficking incidents were between the ages of 18 and 34 (77%) and were U.S. citizens (86%).
About 8 in 10 of the suspected incidents of human trafficking were classified as sex trafficking, and about 1 in 10 incidents were classified as labor trafficking. Federal agencies were more likely to lead labor trafficking investigations (29%) than sex trafficking investigations (7%).

The story the main stream media isn’t covering—the trial of Kermit Gosnell
“When you perform late-term "abortions" by inducing labor, you get babies. Live, breathing, squirming babies. By 24 weeks, most babies born prematurely will survive if they receive appropriate medical care. But that was not what the Women's Medical Society was about. Gosnell had a simple solution for the unwanted babies he delivered: he killed them. He didn't call it that. He called it "ensuring fetal demise." The way he ensured fetal demise was by sticking scissors into the back of the baby's neck and cutting the spinal cord. He called that "snipping."
Over the years, there were hundreds of "snippings." Sometimes, if Gosnell was unavailable, the "snipping" was done by one of his fake doctors, or even by one of the administrative staff.”
“Marcella Stanley Choung, who told us that her "training" for anesthesia consisted of a 15-minute description by Gosnell and reading a chart he had posted in a cabinet. She was so uncomfortable medicating patients, she said, that she "didn't sleep at night." She knew that if she made even a small error, "I can kill this lady, and I'm not jail material." One night in 2002, when she found herself alone with 15 patients, she refused Gosnell's directives to medicate them. She made an excuse, went to her car, and drove away, never to return. Choung immediately filed a complaint with the Department of State, but the department never acted on it.”
Summary of a late term abortion, Grand Jury Report on Gosnell as [finally] reported in The Atlantic. The author claimed he’d never heard of the case until a report appeared by a conservative in USA Today reporting on the lack of coverage in the media.
The media blackout of the Gosnell trial
Maybe if he’d used a gun . . . instead of just stabbing them. These are seats reserved in the courtroom for the media.
