Maher and the Muslims

Don't you wonder how long Maher's head would stay on his scrawny neck (either on earth or on the air) if he were as insulting to Muslims as he was to the Pope and Catholics? I've never watched even 3 minutes of him. He's a twirp made of diseased sputum and fecal matter, of such filth that I'd be afraid to even step near his piles and splatters. But I do think subscribers to HBO should let the owners, producers, and stockholders know just how insulting he is to Catholics in particular, and all Christians in general. I would never say he shouldn't have a right to be an idiot or slanderer or scumbag, but I'd hit him and his owners where it hurts--his wallet. I mean, it's not like the entertainment industry protects the best interests of children by protecting porn and every imaginable filth for the big bucks.
"I'd like to tip off law enforcement to an even larger child-abusing religious cult," Maher told his audience. "Its leader also has a compound, and this guy not only operates outside the bounds of the law, but he used to be a Nazi and he wears funny hats. That's right, the Pope is coming to America this week and, ladies, he's single."

I have written about Maher before. I agree with you totally. He gives slime a bad name.

Whats a matter, you politically correct little right wing robot? You can't handle any criticism of that Pope? I am an American Jew and I I have the right to disparage any religion I want, especially the Church who stood by during WW ll and did little more than offer a few Jews some refuge. Guess what, this is a secular republic, not a Christian theocracy, that must disappoint you. The Church could have alerted the world to the Holocaust and declared the war against the Nazis just, but those cowards hated Jews adn Communist more than Nazis. And now we have this putz lecturing the world when he and his people did nothing to help during WW ll. THey did what most good Germans did, they did what the Nazis told them because they agrees. You are just another spinelss right wing jerkov. I have 100 times the respect for Maher than a piece of Bush worshipping trash like you and your cronies.

I have watched Maher a few times; I don't think an entire show. I think he is a comedian rather than a journalist - at least as far as I can tell. He is sometimes funny, but more frequently simply vulgar based upon my limited experience with his work.

I don't concern myself with what feebleminded people have to say and he is indeed free to rant and spout such nonsense simply because we all are free to express our own opinions.

I am a Roman Catholic, I would love to see the Holy Father, but I am unable to get away to do so while he visits the US.

As to jakester above, my prayers are for you so you can live your faith and the faith of your fathers with peace and not with the hatred you hold in your heart. I pray that you discover the truth and abandon that which causes you such bitterness.

Got it wrong sister, I don't hate the Pope or Catholics, but I don't put them on a pedestal either. I'd rather kick them off one. You don't understand, as good con must hate Maher cause Maher makes fun of Bush and fundies. You must also love the Pope, even though the only thing you agree with is his pro life posiion, cause cons must embrace every conservative religious leader. But as a con too, on my own terms, I find it laughable that all these right minded folks would support someone who is for open borders, gun control, more welfare, against Iraq and the death penalty just because he is some big kahuna in some medieval voodoo organization. Time to thnik for yourself, not let some senile Hitlerjugend tell you what is right or wrong.

I'll leave Mr/Ms. Jake's post up so people can see the level the left's imagination, in case they also don't watch or listen to Maher. The one I deleted was too abusive and filthy to remain. He/she hasn't addressed whether Maher would use his freedoms and the airwaves to be abusive to Muslims. The left wing bloggers preach to their choirs, or stop by conservative blogs to rant if they don't have a blog to call their own, and always have their own agenda. As for thinking for himself, there's nothing original in this rant and he/she sounds young enough to be my grandchild. But everyone needs a chance to grow up, to vote, to work, to pay a few bills, to read and experience life. Matthew and I are fortunate enough to have done that outside the internet. Matthew's had more careers than I've had (enough for several people), and we don't always agree, but I admire and respect his experience and wisdom.
