But all the polls show voters still think the Democrats care more about them. If this is caring, go love on someone else!
During the Great Depression when the economy would start to perk up, FDR would get some bloated socialist program passed, and the economy would sink again. Ten years he did this, yet Democrats still think he is a saint because Grandpa was sent to the woods to built cabins or grandma got a ten cent raise. Although I think the Ebola thing has been way over publicized, we see that it has lessened respect and faith in the president, who sits on his hands and worries about West African economies when our stock market got shaky just from the damage to airlines. Then he appoints a political hack to be the Ebola czar. No one, except maybe Rachel Maddow has faith in him.

you have no idea how important FDR was to this country during the depression and the war you have chosen to disregard history on every front I just don't get it when obviously life since then has been pretty damn good to you it is sometimes sad when you fail to KNOW history you are doomed to repeat it you may get your way but you will hurt lot of people in the process do you care at all have to wonder
Of course I know how important FDR was. That's all I was taught. But if you look at the Depression years, every time the country started to pull out of the slough, he'd slap another socialist program on it, and it would slide backwards. Levels of unemployment at the end of the 1930s remained at depression levels. In May 1939, unemployment was at +20%. Maybe you think that's pretty damn good, but I don't. His taxes were confiscatory, even for the little guy taxing candy and movies. We really didn't get out of it until the 50s if you really examine the data. The improvements in the economy and many of the benefits our generation enjoyed came in the 1950s. Minimum wage laws seriously hurt black and unskilled workers, and he did nothing about civil rights or the anti-lynching laws pushed by Republicans. SS hung on, but has needed to be seriously changed, but no one has the guts. Like Obama FDR was personally charming, and that my dear, is what gets you votes.
The Dow Jones industrial average didn't return to its summer 1929 high until 1954. The monetary shock of the first years of the Depression was immense, but it was the duration that made the Depression Great, and that honor belongs to FDR.
