Not even close

Glenn Beck Restoring Honor, August 28, 2010

Tides supported One Nation rally, October 2, 2010

The One Nation Working Together demand more rally on October 2, had both required attendance and paid transportation and it couldn't even come close to Glenn Beck's Restoring Honor Rally on August 28, 2010. This is an aerial shot--you could have flown in a few Tea Party rallies and still had plenty of room. Obama just can't draw a crowd anymore, and besides, he left town.

Pathetic. Even with free food and travel they couldn't draw a crowd. The left is leaving him.

Looks like MSNBC was a sponsor, or at least a cheerleader. Maybe that's why it failed. All 100 of their viewers hadn't tuned in.

“We come together today because America needs jobs, good jobs, jobs that support families—all families,” he added. “Jobs that give our young people paths of opportunity, not obstacles. Jobs that allow people to retire with dignity.” AFL-CIO president

Then they better elect a president who believes in a market economy, and stop trying to kill it. Gov't doesn't create jobs.

Murray sez:
I noticed that the participants in the union rally were carrying a lot of the same signs that were printed for the occasion. The unions told their workers they both had to and should attend. Obama himself pleaded for their attendance. He totally ignored Beck's rally and the 9/12/2009 Tea Party March but embraced the Hispanics the same day. What does that tell anyone? Wake up America!!!!

It was not free travel. I know three that paid to go via a bus. Most are unemployed and have no money so this was a bit of a hardship. I really don't think turning up our nose at the poor realy does us proud. I understand the need to do so.It makes us feel superior. And that is always a good feeling.

No one is turning up a nose at the poor. (And union leaders and members are not poor--esp. if they work for the gov't--they earn twice the public sector.) Obama has no solutions, they are angry, and they should be. You've completely misunderstood both the purpose of the rally and our complaints.

I don't know how anon1113 got the idea this was about poor. It was about jobs for the middle class--I'm pretty sure that was in their advertising.

You're heart's gotta break for the poor anonymous is worried about.

More than $69 million in California welfare money, meant to help the needy pay their rent and clothe their children, has been spent or withdrawn outside the state in recent years, including millions in Las Vegas, hundreds of thousands in Hawaii and thousands on cruise ships sailing from Miami.

State-issued aid cards have been used at hotels, shops, restaurants, ATMs and other places in 49 other states, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Guam, according to data obtained by The Times from the California Department of Social Services. Las Vegas drew $11.8 million of the cash benefits, far more than any other destination. The money was accessed from January 2007 through May 2010.

Yes, breaks your heart don't it?
