The debate--Romney and Perry

For now until and unless I find out something I don't like, Perry is my pick since Jindal and Ryan don't seem to want to run. I've had enough of pretty boy socialism, limp wrists and bowing and scraping, and the White House filled with union goons and Chicago hoodlums. Let's have a little cowboy bluster to fill the sails of the economy instead of just hot air.
Romney said that his business experience makes him more qualified than "career politicians" to create jobs as president. But Perry took some air out of his balloon by pointing out that that business experience didn't help Romney create jobs in Massachusetts. It ranked near the bottom of the country in that category. Perry noted that Texas had created more jobs in a few months than the Bay State under Romney created in four years. Romney tried to explain quickly the difficulties of governing in a liberal state but primary voters probably don't care about Romney's misfortune.

Romney, though smooth enough for most of the debate, played a dangerous game by cheap-shotting Perry on Social Security. How dare Perry call Social Security a "Ponzi scheme," said Romney, who presented himself as a champion of Social Security and Perry as a destroyer of it. But Social Security is a Ponzi scheme for the young and Perry properly stood by his remark and calls for Social Security reform.

Nice way to twist what happened.

I don't believe in aborting babies who are as innocent as can be, nor in killing criminals who are as guilty as can be. My liberal friends think the babies should die and the criminals live. Now that's sillier than what happened at the debate.

You have liberal friends? I doubt that is what they think at all but I don't know that for sure, how can anyone be so sure of some one else is thinking. Most good people don't want to see either killed.Good people believe in redemption. If you can live with Perry and the Texas mentality more power to you. I have had enough Texas bluster for my lifetime, two Bushes and a Johnson. It is just as stupid to think everyone from Chicago is a hood as it is to think all Texans are cowboys.

Oh yes--Planned Parenthood, ACLU, Moveon.org friends--don't choose my friends by their politics. And where did I say all Chicagoans were hoods? Only the ones who worked in the Chicago local scams and then moved on to the White House, and where did I say all Texans were cowboys? I've got lots of friends in Texas. Don't think a one of them support killing babies or criminals.

Brian Williams: "What do you make of that dynamic that just happened here, the mention of the execution of 234 people drew applause?"

Although Williams surely did not intend it as such, this question was a gift for Perry, who got to reiterate his position while flattering voters by praising their wisdom: "I think Americans understand justice. I think Americans are clearly, in the vast majority of--of cases, supportive of capital punishment. When you have committed heinous crimes against our citizens--and it's a state-by-state issue, but in the state of Texas, our citizens have made that decision, and they made it clear, and they don't want you to commit those crimes against our citizens. And if you do, you will face the ultimate justice."

Death penalty is fine, if you're guilty. We both know there were some innocent people executed there. It's more like liberal de-friend.....You don't really want to hear a liberal or even middle of the road side.

IMO, the death penalty isn't fine, even for the guilty. However, matched against the 50 million abortions the Democrats have supported since Roe I guess I'll go with the pro-life candidates. Now, what pray tell, is middle of the road side?
