Some call it evolution, I call it politics

"I believe marriage is the union between a man and a woman. Now, for me as a Christian, it’s also a sacred union." Barack Obama, 2008. [Needed to get the Christian values voters and moderates during the 2008 election.]

"President Obama this hour signed legislation that repeals the "don't ask, don't tell" law that bars openly gay men and women from serving in the U.S. military." Dec. 2010. [Needed to placate the leftists who don't like the military no matter what, wanted to weaken morale and thumb his nose at the conservatives.]

"The President of the United States has made the determination that Section 3 of the Defense of Marriage Act (“DOMA”), 1 U.S.C. § 7, as applied to same-sex couples who are legally married under state law, violates the equal protection component of the Fifth Amendment." Eric Holder, Feb. 2011. [Needed to rally support of his left wing base.]

"At a certain point, I've just concluded, that for me, personally, it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same-sex couples should be able to get married," May 2012 [Money immediately pours in from wealthy gays and celebs as his campaign coffers are nearing empty.]

And no, I don't believe he was forced; I think this was planned. "President Obama was outed by no less than his own Vice President Joe Biden on the administration's support for same-sex marriage. Biden took a hard-line position supporting gay marriage on Sunday -- forcing the President to come out yesterday and tell ABC News that his own thinking on the issue had evolved and yes, he too was now wholeheartedly supporting same sex marriage."

I hope you're right. Something has to wake people up to his lies and trickery.

"The Washington Post reported the other day that "about one in six of Obama's top campaign 'bundlers' are gay . . . making it difficult for the president to defer the matter." " James Taranto column

Considering the photo he tweeted (looking skyward) with the text, Same sex couples should be able to get married, I think he's trying to worm his way into the history records, not just the first black president, not just as the first president to be endorsed by Planned Parenthood, but the first to endorse gay marriage. It fits his BO MO.

2 or 3 weeks prior to Biden's "slip of the tongue" on Meet the Press he made it clear at an LA function his thoughts on faux marriage and then repeated those remarks almost verbatim on Meet the Press. This whole issue was planned..."choreographed."
