Tough on Republicans, soft on terrorists

545728_415741801814644_1559138543_n[1]

He lied about his support for “the Bush wars” (voted for them) and he lied about the HHS Mandate (there is no allowance or agreement that Catholic Bishops have approved) and lied about who knew what when about Benghazi attacks (facts were known within 24 hours and for 2 weeks Obama, Clinton and Rice lied) and he waffled on abortion (he’s a cafeteria catholic).  Good old, foot-in-mouth Joe  is truth-challenged, and too confused about his own values and the administration’s policies to be a heart beat away from the presidency.

Hold on. Only half of the nation is outraged

The other half—the Obama supporters are still making excuses for their team.

In fact, Ryan’s Benghazi slam (in the vp debate), right out of the chute, won him the debate. This terrorist attack is going to be a huge issue in the presidential race. Americans are furious at the Obama-Biden-Clinton stupidity and mismanagement surrounding the tragic Benghazi deaths. They are enraged at the Benghazi cover-up. Ryan accused Biden of malfeasance in every aspect of this tragedy. It was a tremendous body slam right from the start.

And Biden misled everyone with a string of falsehoods. He said the administration did not have complete intelligence at the start of the crisis. But we now know they did have sufficient intelligence to realize that the killing of Ambassador Chris Stevens and three others had nothing to do with spontaneous reactions to a YouTube video, and that it was a planned al-Qaida attack.

White House "Denies, Deceives, Delays" Truth on Mideast

By Amy Woods, Newsmax, 10.14.2012

Senator Lindsey Graham leveled conspiracy charges against the White House for attempting to cover up the Sept. 11 terrorist attack on the Libyan embassy that killed a U.S. ambassador. Graham said on CBS’ “Face the Nation” he knows for a fact the administration was told within 24 hours of the incident it was carried out by al-Qaida operatives.

“They’re trying to sell a narrative, quite frankly, that the wars are receding and al-Qaida’s been dismantled. And to admit that our embassy was attacked by al-Qaida undercuts that narrative. They never believed the media would investigate. Congress was out of session. It just caught up with them.

“They’re very political when it comes to foreign policy,” Graham said. “When something goes bad, they deny, they deceive, and they delay, and the truth is, we’re not safer. Al-Qaida is alive.”
President Obama told David Letterman two days after the attack it was the result of a controversial video.

“There was never a riot,” Graham said. “There was never a group of people around the embassy. It was a coordinated terrorist attack.”

Romney surging in Ohio

561631_10151277879227650_251328772_n[1]

But we still have a lot of confused people, who want four more years of this mess!  High unemployment.  Cover-ups worse than Watergate.  Crony capitalism.  “Just us” in the Justice Department.   Unbelievable.

Million Muppet March

579223_10151276906152650_347633972_n[1]

“The Kitchen Cabinet:  Two liberals who oppose Romney's position that PBS should be self-supporting, are planning a "Million Muppet March" just before the November election. Because terrorist attacks, economic depression, and a national debt higher than the nearest solar system pale in comparison to America's desperate need to support PBS with TAX DOLLARS! We love PBS! SELL COMMERCIALS!”

Sesame Street is already self-supporting—makes far more than Mitt Romney, so that at least could be spun off the tax payer payroll.

Oops. He forgot Obama!

“In all of his ranting and defending of the Democratic agenda, Biden failed at his number one job: propping up the boss! In his tireless pursuit of the limelight, Biden has actually set up President Obama up for failure in the next presidential debate.

Do you remember even one MENTION of the President? Or Joe Biden sharing even one of the President’s successes or great leadership traits?

Instead, Biden exposed the vulnerabilities of the Obama administration like open cans of tuna. The imperfect aroma of Obamacare, Libya, Medicare and Unemployment will fill the stage when Romney faces the President this week. In other words, he set President Obama up for failure.”

The Kitchen Cabinet

A number of women have remarked that Biden’s behavior reminded them of their ex-husband or boyfriend;  and I’m guessing for a certain age group, it reminds them of the way men have treated them at the office/workplace.  Nope, no points from women.

Without all the answers for 2 weeks they lied about a video!

And they had the film maker arrested, and they used the event to build up Islam.  The President even continued the lie while speaking to the U.N. Then Looselips Joe goes on national TV and says the White House knew nothing about the requests for security and that Syria is larger than Libya.  Clearly, the White House is out of control and the President needs to spend less time with Jay-Z and Letterman and more time with his intelligence advisors!  Even the lapdog media are starting to get uncomfortable.  This mess is much bigger than Watergate, but without an investigative, responsible press, most Americans (including my friends and relatives who are Democrats and watch broadcast news)  will never hear about it.

"We do not have all the answers. No one in this administration has ever claimed otherwise."

"We are providing the best information we have at that time and that information continues to be updated, it also continues to be put into context and more deeply understood through the process we are engaged in," she said.

There are three separate investigations into the attack going on now: an FBI probe into the deaths of the four Americans, an independent inquiry by a panel appointed by Clinton and the congressional hearings.

In her address, which focused particularly on North Africa, Clinton stressed that extremists were trying to hijack democratic transitions under way. She warned of al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb's growing reach from its stronghold in northern Mali, just south of Libya.

Marblehead-Lakeside Lighthouse Festival

After a gray start, the skies cleared on Friday and we had an eyeful of glorious color on our way to the Lake.  Dinner and breakfast with good friends, and then the craft fair, where I helped out some local artisans by over spending.

Saturday was partly cloudy but made it to the mid-60s. Even with limited sunshine, the fall colors were brilliant on the way home and we enjoyed the drive. We were noting political yard signs. In small rural towns along Rt. 4 there were almost no Obama-Biden signs; many Romney-Ryan. These people are really hurting and are not willing to give this failure 4 more years. But in Lakeside, the blue Obama signs are blooming. A sweet community of good hearted people who are heavily academic and "public servant" 2nd home owners with comfortable pensions. Talk to anyone who has a small business--they'll tell you what Obama’s doing to the country.

Joe Biden’s biggest slip of the evening

Good ol’ Joe.  You can count on at least one big, huge, massive gaffe. I thought this one was the biggest slip of the evening--claiming the WH had no knowledge of the security requests when millions of people watched the hearings on Wednesday which laid it all out. It made Obama look like a fool who'd been hanging out with Letterman and Jay-Z instead of minding the store. Oh wait. He was!

Two State Department officials admitted in Congressional hearings under oath that those requests were denied. Eric Nordstrom, the top regional security officer in Libya during the summer, testified that Charlene Lamb, the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, turned down his request for more security.  Also, during the hearings it came out that no one who was in Benghazi had reported the video was a problem nor was there a protest going on—and everyone in the State Dept. knew it was a planned terrorist attack, yet Obama, Clinton and Rice continued to stir up hatred in the Middle East with that ridiculous story.  A week later Obama was still telling tales at the U.N.  And the filmmaker is in jail on trumped up charges.

First, Biden blamed the intelligence community for the administration’s confusing public explanations of the 9/11 anniversary attack in Benghazi, Libya. Moderator Martha Raddatz asked Biden directly why administration spokesman “were talking about protests” in Benghazi. “When people in the consulate first saw armed men attacking with guns, there were no protesters. Why did that go on?”

“Because that was exactly what we were told by the intelligence community,” Biden said. “The intelligence community told us that. As they learned more facts about exactly what happened, they changed their assessment.” . . .

But it was what Biden said next that made that answer so interesting. Raddatz turned the debate to Iran, saying: “There’s really no bigger national security issue facing this country.”

Biden, in an attempt to parry an attack from Ryan, suddenly expressed his belief that the U.S. intelligence community is omniscient. There’s no need to consider war right now, he argued, because “we’ll know if they start to build a weapon.”

So the same intelligence community that failed to deliver information in its possession about the attacks on Benghazi is suddenly so all-knowing on Iran that we needn’t worry about the mullahs going nuclear?

Joe IS a Cafeteria Catholic

Vice President Biden essentially laid out the pro-life position of the Catholic Church, of which he is a member, and then he proceeded to talk about how he violates it.

Christians for Mitt (Facebook)

Thank you, Lord, for calm, substantial grace and dignity again in our rising American leaders, Mitt Romney & Paul Ryan. Help us, Lord, with this crisis of character and competence that has befallen our nation. Amen.

(Writer’s  opinion: It's a shock to see a man like Joe Biden as the Vice President of our nation. How could men like this, with such indignity of manner and thought, be occupying positions of highest leadership. We are truly in a crisis but God is raising up real Americans, again. Proverbs 29:9, "If a wise man has an argument with a fool, the fool only the rages and laughs, and there is no quiet." But the discerning know wisdom, and the Lord shall rise with us, as we rise for Him.

My opinion:  Biden’s behavior was bizarre, however I think it really resonates with Democrats who have no character or principles in their platform or program.  We can’t expect good manners from people who boo God.

Mark Levin’s opinion:  Martha Raddatz was awful, stepping all over Paul Ryan's statements. Joe Biden was off his meds, flailing with his hands, interrupting, repetitive, and whiny, which is what most of his base has wanted. And Paul Ryan was calm, cool, and collected, with a better second half in the debate.

Joe Pags opinion: As Al Gore would say, "the debate is over." My Thoughts.. As expected Martha Raddatz, was biting and on the attack with Ryan -- seemed to give in more with Biden. I thought she was going to be fair at first, but then she was what I expected she'd be -- a shill for the Obama admin. Even as Biden begged for even time, fact is, he got nearly two minutes more than Ryan. I guess Obama got Raddatz a nice wedding gift.

RNC Chair Reince Priebus :  Vice President Joe Biden interrupted Congressman Paul Ryan "82 times" during the debate.

Dana Show:  Ryan's job tonight was to set up Romney for next debate. Biden's job was to clean up Obama's mess from the last one.

Michelle Malkin: Pundits and news anchors are expressing post-debate shock at how smirky, condescending and arrogant Vice President Joe Biden was tonight. They buzzed on Twitter at his “malarkey” rebuke of Paul Ryan’s foreign policy criticism.

523859_3860459112153_1129498766_n[1]

Peggy Noonan: Last week Mr. Obama was weirdly passive. Last night Mr. Biden was weirdly aggressive, if that is the right word for someone who grimaces, laughs derisively, interrupts, hectors, rolls his eyes, browbeats and attempts to bully. He meant to dominate, to seem strong and no-nonsense. Sometimes he did—he had his moments. But he was also disrespectful and full of bluster. "Oh, now you're Jack Kennedy!" he snapped at one point. It was an echo of Lloyd Bentsen to Dan Quayle, in 1988. But Mr. Quayle, who had compared himself to Kennedy, had invited the insult. Mr. Ryan had not. It came from nowhere. Did Mr. Biden look good? No, he looked mean and second-rate. He meant to undercut Mr. Ryan, but he undercut himself. His grimaces and laughter were reminiscent of Al Gore's sighs in 2000—theatrical, off-putting and in the end self-indicting.

Features of the Obamaphone (humor)

Via the always brilliant People’s Cube and Chicago Boyz:

  • It automatically rejects calls from people with a different opinion.
  • Every time you take a picture, it produces a grimmer image of America.
  • It doesn’t have a plan; it just keeps telling you how bad the other guy’s plan is.
  • When it crashes, it blames your previous phone.
  • All 3 AM calls go directly to voicemail.
  • It has a really useless app called “Biden.”
  • Pairing it with another device sucks all the energy out of the other unit.
  • Type in “job search” and it gives you directions to the welfare office.
  • The navigation feature covers all 57 States.
  • The default ringtone for international calls is “I’m sorry, so sorry, please accept my apology.”
  • The healthcare app downloads and installs itself without your permission.
  • When you make a call, a teleprompter pops up to help you speak.
  • Restaurant reviews are all written by Michelle Obama.
  • There are never any winners on Angry Birds.
  • Instagram takes two months to process a photo and you have to fill out 3 PDFs to do so.
  • Paypal app is replaced with ReceivePal app.
  • You can’t find “Jerusalem” on Google maps.
  • It turns all your Facebook friends into enemies and all your enemies into friends.
  • Don’t want to work? There’s an app for that, too.
  • It automatically bows down to phones made by foreign companies.
  • When you watch a YouTube video, a US ambassador gets killed.
  • When you dial “home”, it calls Kenya.
  • As opposed to the iPhone, it’s called the mePhone.
  • Abortion is not “reproductive health”

It’s sure death for the baby, but what about the mother?  So why do Democrats push abortion as a “health” issue. It’s anti-health. And our government is trying to export it and fund it for black and brown women in developing countries.

    • subsequent preterm birth;

    Big Obama Bird

On Tuesday, at a rally for Obama here in Columbus, Ohio, the performer chose to play something new: the theme song for “Sesame Street.”  Interesting that Obama is taking this so lightly.  Sort of like on September 12, 2012, after the State Department knew it was a terrorist attack that killed our Ambassador and 3 other Americans and he took off on the campaign trail to get chummy with Beyonce and Jay-Z and Dave Letterman for another big fund raiser with celebrities.

Charlene Lamb, Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Programs, Bureau of Diplomatic Security, U.S. Department of State yesterday testified she’d listened to the whole account in real time.  Col. Wolf,  a Utah National Guard Green Beret, said they knew it was not a mob but a terrorist attack immediately.

So why the focus on Big Bird, except he doesn’t take this seriously? He’s still so cocky he thinks he won that debate despite what his staff have told him? The crowd was confused. . . they already knew Big Bird wasn’t playing well for him.

New York Times political correspondent Jeff Zeleny also tweeted about the audience's surprise at will's creative interlude. "At Ohio State, will.i.am picks up Big Bird theme, playing Sesame Street song as a warm up act for Obama. Crowd looks confused."

will.i.am.'s lighthearted throwback to Romney's earlier remarks weren't the only time Big Bird and "Sesame Street" made news Tuesday, as the production team behind the show, the Sesame Workshop, issued an official statement written to both political campaigns — though directed at the Obama campaign regarding their new attack ad that features Big Bird — requesting that any mention of Big Bird in their respective advertising be immediately removed.

One of the reasons they don’t want the focus on Big Bird or Sesame Street is the extreme wealth and the salaries of the CEOs. I think the guy in the costume makes $400,000 a year—definitely a 1 percenter.

    The hearings on Libya

What transpired yesterday In Congressional hearings (Libya security and terrorism) which I watched on C-SPAN to avoid the analysis and commercial breaks, shows a much bigger coverup than Watergate. Even the most devoted Obama supporters, if they watched it, should be alarmed.

Now the whole world knows we were lied to about the 9/11 events in Benghazi, and a massive cover-up took place from either complete incompetence or political motives surrounding the coming elections.  No one believes Obama is dumb or Clinton lacks experience, so that only leaves the election.  Watergate was about political power, but no one died.  In Benghazi not only Americans died, but others around the middle east as outrage spread from the lies being told.   Individual careers lower down the ladders are probably now at risk. Charlene Lamb, Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Programs, Bureau of Diplomatic Security, U.S. Department of State,  obviously is one who works by the book and clearly denied additional security when it was requested, but I also noticed that although the men being questioned were for the most part allowed to put their answer in context, she wasn't. "Yes, or No, m'am." Patrick Kennedy, Under Secretary for Management U.S. Department of State,   looked foolish also. Both insist no one influenced their response on the cause--terrorism or video. But Lamb’s own account of the evenings events (ambassador walking outside with a Turkish guest, and there were no disturbances shortly before the attack) pretty well puts a lie to any mob being at fault.

. Although I never cared for him, Dennis Kucinich (D-OH)  was amazing. He was always speaking out against Bush and the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, now he’s really laying it on Obama for extending it. Over a year ago he said Obama’s offenses were “impeachable.”   And that good old boy from Western Penn. also. Made me think of FB conversations on 9/12 where we'd all figured out it wasn't the video. He all but put the buck on Obama's desk.

As Obama, Clinton and Rice continued to go on national/world TV and blame an American video maker, riots happened in many cities (doubt anyone actually saw it, only heard of it). Civilians died and were injured; our embassies and ngo's were put at risk by their careless words and misplaced desire not to speak against Islam.  Plus the media used it to slam Romney, who has been proven right.  The media has egg on their face and blood on their hands.

Romney was right to speak out; but it is Obama who shoots and takes aim later, by announcing and apologizing for a video that had nothing to do with it, information they all say came from “intelligence sources.” Who isn’t clear, but I suspect Clapper will take the fall for Clinton and Obama.

Raddatz the debate judge is Obama’s buddy

Do you think there is a conflict of interest? If Mrs. Romney had a sorority sister working for a Fox News panel, do you think that wouldn't be brought up every night?

"Martha Raddatz (ABC) has a connection with Barack Obama going all the way back to their days at Harvard. They worked on the Harvard Law Review together, and Obama attended her 1991 wedding. Fast forward to the present, and President Obama has appointed Raddatz’s husband, Julius Genachowski, to the Federal Communications Commission. Genachowski is also an Obama campaign bundler, meaning that he is a major fundraiser for the president’s re-election effort. That storyline alone raises questions of corruption and rewarding political supporters with powerful federal posts. Yet ABC insists that Raddatz has no conflict of interest in moderating the debate." PJ Tatler, Bryon Preston

Is anything working for Obama—even Big Bird has said NO!

    Yard signs and bumper stickers

This comment was left on another web site.  He didn’t give the name or source, just thought it made some sense.

I think that one reason we aren’t seeing as may Obama bumper stickers and signs is that people don’t want to look like complete idiots. I know I do it, if I see someone with a bumper sticker I try to see who is in the car and I shake my head and give them a look like they are stupidest person I’ve ever seen. I mean would you want people to know that you are so ignorant that you would make a colossal mistake TWICE?

Vandalism is the reason for the lack of Romney gear. Obama supporters are a bunch of thugs. If you don’t agree with them they get you since they have no rational argument.

    Big Bird isn’t hurting

It’s interesting to see the hype about mean old Romney clobbering Big Bird.  Children’s [Television] Network could easily stand on its own without any assistance from the taxpayer.   Now it’s bigger than Disney.  Should we be fund raising for Disney?  Sprout was created in 2004—with Comcast and Apax, a global venture capital firm that invests in telecommunications, not unlike the one Mitt Romney was associated with years ago and which is regularly demonized in Obama ads.

Children's Network, LLC, doing business as PBS KIDS Sprout, operates a preschool destination available on television, on demand, and online for kids aged two to five, and their parents and caregivers. The company’s digital channel follows the day of a preschooler from breakfast to bedtime with its interactive programming and original hosted blocks. It also provides on demand services for younger children. The company offers its services through digital cable and satellite television in the United States. The company was founded in 2004 and is based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Children's Network, LLC operates as a subsidiary of Comcast Corporation. http://investing.businessweek.com/research/stocks/private/snapshot.asp?privcapId=24178721

    And in July 2012:

Preschoolers will have six new shows to watch on Saturday mornings starting this weekend on NBC.

The Peacock Network will launch “NBC Kids” Saturday, a new three-hour block from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. that aims to address developmental needs of preschool children and to promote healthy lifestyles.

When Comcast acquired NBC Universal last year, it joined forces with Sprout, the first 24-hour channel for kids ages 2-5 and their families.

The channel has been available via Comcast since its 2005 launch, but “NBC Kids” will be the first opportunity to see these shows for families who aren’t customers of the cable provider. http://articles.nydailynews.com/2012-07-05/news/32555218_1_nbc-universal-peacock-network-nbc-kids

And Apax. . . and Sandy Wax, President PBS KIDS Sprout

Apax Partners LLP is a global private equity and venture capital firm, headquartered in London. The company also operates out of eight other offices in New York, Hong Kong, Mumbai, Tel-Aviv, Madrid, Stockholm, Milan and Munich. The firm, including its various predecessors, have raised approximately $35 billion (USD) dating back to 1969. Apax Partners is one of the oldest and largest private equity firms operating on an international basis, ranked the seventh largest private equity firm globally.[1] . . . As of the end of 2007, Apax had invested in approximately 340 companies in all stages of development. . . .  One of the firm's co-founders, Alan Patricof, was an early investor in Apple Computer and America Online (AOL). [Wikipedia]

Sandy Wax, president and general manager of PBS KIDS Sprout, the first 24-hour TV channel dedicated to little ones ages 2-5. “As content creators, we’re constantly challenged to think about how technology changes the ways kids watch and interact with television.” Since launching in 2005, Sprout has generated more than a billion video-on-demand orders while seeing consistent ratings growth. It’s now the number one kids’ TV brand in the country, ahead of both Disney and Nickelodeon. http://www.mainlinetoday.com/Main-Line-Today/October-2012/Power-Women-Sandy-Wax/

Father Maletta’s October 7 sermon on religious liberty

Conservatives are excited. Bump in the polls after the debate. Keep in mind the 6 point bump John McCain got after announcing Sarah Palin as his vice president.  Now is not the time to become complacent.  The lies in the ads here in Ohio (we’re a swing state) are amazing, shameless, and very large. The Chicago Axe  (Axelrod) is doing all he can to destroy Romney’s character.

We still have 30 million Christians not registered to vote. Be sure to listen to Father Maletta's sermon on October 7. It's inspiring.  Because we were created to be in relationship with God, if your candidate is wrong on life and marriage, the other social issues won't matter much.

Obama has failed the Black Middle Class

According to an October 7 article in the Chicago Tribune:

In August, the National Urban League's State of Black America 2012 report found that nearly all the economic gains that the black middle class made during the last 30 years have been wiped out by the economic downturn.

Thanks, Mr. President, for helping out the Black middle class. But don’t worry, they won’t abandon you.  The gates are closed on the plantation run by the Democratic Party.

"The median annual household income for blacks declined by 11.1 percent (from $36,567 to $32,498) from June 2009 to June 2012, according to an analysis of Census Bureau data by Sentier Research. The decline for whites was 5.2 percent and for Hispanics 4.1 percent. Both groups started with higher incomes than blacks."

Conservatives, by nature, mind their own business

"If Obama were to show up in a clown suit and flip-flops, the media narrative would be that his unconventional attire was a daring and brilliant move designed to challenge the status quo and to reveal his human side, or possibly a laudable effort to make politics more interesting to children. ... It should be obvious that America will continue its descent into socialism as long as voters are immersed in liberal ideology in our schools and when they tune in to the news. Elections will determine only the speed of that descent. ... Conservatives never even dream of a day when liberal candidates are peppered with questions by conservative reporters on the nightly news, when network anchors hint darkly at the extremism of liberal candidates, or when schoolchildren celebrate the victory of conservative candidates with songs. Perhaps the fundamental reason, then, for America's precarious state is that conservatives, by nature, mind our own business." --columnist Timothy C. Daughtry

Snoop Dogg thinks “Mitt” is a funny name

One of the reasons Snoop Dogg won't vote for Mitt is he thinks he has a strange name (and he's a Mormon), but he will vote for Obama because Michelle has a fat a**. This is how celebrities influence the vote—of Democrats.  I don’t think it works with Republicans.  With friends like Dogg and Madonna, who gets cheers for claiming there's a black Muslim in the White House (the left says it was a joke, but have you heard it?), no wonder Obama is slipping in the polls. Fans hang on to the wisdom and self-love of these folks and may miss the subtleties.

Oh, and here’s another absurdity.  Obama thinks Romney doesn’t have enough experience to be the president.  I guess because he now has 4 years of total failure, and came in as a light weight.

    You lie

President Obama, his Axe and his media service are crying "Liar" about Romney’s performance in the debate. Obama’s claimed a different Romney showed up.  Yeah. They sound like a playground fight. He is such a whiny complainer.  Can’t even take responsibility and say, “I blew it; I’ll do better next time.”

Why was it so awful, terrible and disrespectful when Joe Wilson did that to Obama (and he's been proven correct on Obamacare)? He only yelled in one building.  Obama said it to the entire nation.

Some people say Valerie Jarrett is the real president.  If so, he’s fighting like a little girl.

    The Democrats’ War against Women

Occasionally, I still see references to the horrors of back alley abortions and the deaths of thousands of women--even saw it in an Obama TV political ad. It's a myth spread by the pro-abortion crowd to get Roe v. Wade passed 40 years ago. They knew it was a lie, but they thought their cause was worth it. (Bernard Nathanson, M.D. Aborting America. Doubleday, 1979, p 193; Marian Faux. Roe v. Wade: The Untold Story of the Landmark Supreme Court Decision That Made Abortion Legal. MacMillan Publishers, 1990.) There is a higher death rate for women in childbirth if there was a previous abortion; there is a higher suicide rate among women who have aborted; the National Cancer Institute has recently reversed itself on the link between breast cancer and abortion, after years of assuring women it wasn't a problem. Oral contraceptives also increase breast cancer. But in any case, abortion is almost 100% fatal for the baby (some survive) over half of which are females, and 40% black. The War against Women is not being waged by the Republican pro-lifers.

    Voter intimidation lives in Ohio!

In the pre-Eisenhower era, Democrats kept blacks from the polls with a variety of tricks backed by the federal and state governments. Now they are keeping citizens looking at public registration rolls in Ohio from reporting deceased, out of state, and residence errors to the county board of elections through intimidation. True The Vote President Catherine Engelbrecht released a statement regarding the Ohio Voter Integrity Project's submission of Citizen Challenges, a process outlined in Ohio Election Code by which a registered voter can file an official request with their Board of Elections to review irregular voter registrations.
    http://www.truethevote.org/news/true-the-vote-statement-regarding-the-ohio-voter-integrity-project-s-ongoing-voter-roll-challenges

However, having clean rolls, terrifies the Democrats and even a few county entrenched Republicans, and these citizens, doing what they are legally allowed to do, submit challenges to the board of elections, are being demonized in the press and by people in both parties!

Says, Engelbrecht, "These citizens trusted that their counties would thoughtfully consider their submissions and either grant or deny their findings, as stated in the protocol outlined in Ohio Election Code, which should have resulted in deceased voters being removed, duplicate entries being revised, and incorrect addresses being corrected.

“Many counties did make corrections to their registration records. In some cases, county boards rejected the challenges based on updated information or other internal reasons that were unknown to the citizens at the time of filing. . . their well-intentioned efforts were spun and recast as villainous; their names were splayed across the front pages of their local papers; West Coast reporters showed up on their lawns and stalked them for comment, suddenly they found themselves at the center of a national spectacle. They trusted in the system and were betrayed at every turn.”

It makes perfect sense, says S.E. Cupp

I get why President Obama’s campaign spokespeople say they are “shocked” by Mitt Romney’s assertion that 47 percent of the electorate see themselves as victims, want handouts and think they are entitled to government money.

I understand why liberals find the comments, made at a secretly filmed, closed-door meeting with big-money donors, offensive. And it’s very clear why the media is seizing on Romney’s words as . . . cue scary music . . . the “end of his campaign.”

But the truth is, Romney stole an Obama tactic — labeling Democratic voters victims — right out from under him.

    Bloodmoney—Abortion is all about money

Tonight at 5 p.m. EWTN will show Bloodmoney, a documentary about abortion and Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in the U.S. and solid backer of President Obama.

    From Business Wire:

Bloodmoney is a Documentary (now available on DVD) that exposes the greed-driven politics of the abortion industry. Despite claims that the pro-abortion movement exists to help women, in reality it is little more than a vast money-making enterprise.

Narrated by Dr. Alveda King, the niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, this film exposes the truth behind an industry that has harmed untold numbers of people and taken the lives of 50 million innocent children. In the film Dr. King speaks not only from the perspective of a post abortive woman, but as a civil rights leader about the injustice of abortion.

“Bloodmoney brings startling revelation to the forefront of the pro-life battle and exposes the true agenda behind the abortion industry. This film is truly part of the plan to set the captives free,” - Dr. Alveda King, director of African American Outreach, Priests for Life.

The film also features interviews from Carol Everett a former abortion clinic owner, as well as from pro-life leaders such as Frank Pavone, Joe Scheidler and others. This documentary film examines abortion in America, from the inception of Planned Parenthood to Roe v. Wade and the denial of when life begins. The makers also look at the profitability of the abortion clinics that keep this barbaric practice going. Finally, it shows the devastating effects abortion can have on the women that have them, and the continuing fight to save the lives of innocent babies.

The DVD is available online at Bloodmoneyfilm.com and the producers of the film are also licensing public screenings so that the truth behind the abortion industry can be exposed for what it is.

    Coming soon--The Voice of John

Lyndon Johnson muzzled the voice of the church

The ban on churches participating in the election process has nothing to do with the First Amendment or Jeffersonian principles of separation of church and state.  It is based on a provision in the 1954 tax reform act prohibiting all tax-exempt organizations from supporting or opposing political candidates.  It grew out of Lyndon Johnson’s effort to end McCarthyism and to win reelection to the Senate in 1954 and was specifically directed at right-wing organizations.  Although he was particularly worried about specific organizations that opposed him (they weren’t churches), the way the act was worded caused the muzzling of churches, which up to that time had had freedom to speak out about elections.

    Paula’s list of excuses

Paula Priesse has collected a list of excuses for Obama’s failures in the debate.

    1) Al Gore – The “altitude” (Coach – “We only lost because game was in Denver”)

    2) Left wing blogs – “Cheating Romney looked at hankie” (Jeopardy Winner Scandal – Answers on Kleenex)

    3) Obama college supporters in Madison – “Unfair, Obama couldn’t use teleprompter” (Students Strike Over No Cheating Policy)

    4) NY Times Charles Blow – Obama just lost on “style” (WA Generals Lose to Globetrotters on Style Points Only)

    5) Obama on Friday – Romney in debate was like “Dancing With The Stars” or “Extreme Makeover”

    6) Jim Lehrer (I’m adding that one), even though he gave Obama 4 minutes more than Romney some leftists said it was his fault in not controlling the debate more.

Why does the left defend Big Bird—he’s wealthier than Mitt Romney!

Obama was never constitutional law professor, never offered tenure

“According to longtime University of Chicago law professor Richard Epstein, Obama was never actually offered a tenured faculty position. Nor, for that matter, was he ever a “constitutional law professor.”

“I have no idea where Jodi [Kantor] got her story [2008]” about the tenure offer, said Epstein, adding that he immediately wrote Kantor to tell her she was wrong.

“Tenure offers require votes from faculties approved by the provost, and need a scholarly output. He was approached with the possibility of an entry level position without tenure, but it never got to the faculty for want of interest on his side,” Epstein confirmed via email.

Epstein was the law school’s interim dean during 2001. His account contradicts a claim Kantor has repeatedly made, that a tenure offer came from Dean Daniel Fischel.

    Another campaign stop in California

Saul Alinsky is considered the founder of modern protest tactics and the father of community organizing. He became the topic of Hillary Clinton’s college thesis, a role model for Barack Obama and a mentor to labor activist Cesar Chavez.  President Obama will go to California to dedicate a memorial to Chavez. This way in one trip he can pump up the Hispanic vote and pander to his far left wing base which lately has been very unhappy with him for  trying to appear “centrist“ for the campaign.

“This is Wayne Dupree, Newsninja2012. I am and have been committed to exposing the Democrats in a way that has been frowned upon by some conservatives and cheered by many more. When I completely left the Democratic Plantation in 2008 during the Democratic Primary, I felt liberated and free to a point that I wanted to share it with everyone.

Since that time, I have gone stealth mode and really learned more history than I ever did in school and how much I was lied to by the Democratic Party. To have that sense of what I knew and that it was fabricated to get my vote only angered me to the point I had to begin something to inform everyone else.

I feel it’s our responsibility as conservatives/republicans to fight back against the liberal hate machine and meet them head on with like-minded strength and dedication. I also want to expose the media for the dirt bag politics that they employ on a daily basis and how they rip us off by not giving up the correct news to be well-informed voters.

If you aren’t entitled to success in America, where can you go?

The President of Everything Redistributive and Food Stamps has declared:

“This country doesn’t just succeed when just a few are doing well at the top. It succeeds when the middle class gets bigger. Our economy doesn’t grow from the top down — it grows from the middle out. We don’t believe that anybody is entitled to success in this country,” said Obama. “But we do believe in opportunity. We believe in a country where hard work pays off and responsibility is rewarded, and everybody is getting a fair shot and everybody is doing their fair share and everybody is playing by the same rules.”

He needs to reread history.  Our government also isn’t from the top down as he keeps bloating and expanding it.  It’s we the people, sir.

The All American Quarter Horse Congress

Here in Columbus we can visit/see a spectacular event for the next three weeks that brings in millions to our economy--the All American Quarter Horse Congress. As of mid-September  the 2012 Quarter Horse Congress had a 9 percent increase in regular entries over 2011, with 18,268 entries, compared to 16,742 at this time last year. This number doesn’t account for late entries made during the event.

It's almost laughable to imagine what would have happened to this money maker begun in 1967 by a small county horse organization if the federal government had imposed on it the subjective ideas of "distributive justice" or "sustainability" or "affirmative action." Yes, it is subject to probably thousands of rules from codes for barns and food safety to labor laws, but the government didn't build it, can't build it, but Americans working together can. Load up the car--the ticket price is per carload.

Democrats call this approach “racist” and bullying and “chainsaw”

But the rest of the nation saw it as truth, common sense, and a better way to restoring the country. Now the Chicago thugs will have to double down on vilifying Romney.  Get ready for some real nastiness.

“By pummeling the president on the facts and the policy, Mr. Romney looked in control. By walking through the concepts of growth, of free-market health care, of tax reform, he inspired with ideas. By explaining how his specific policies will help average Americans, and by doing it with a sunny demeanor, he became that likeable candidate.

The effect was not only to erase the months-long Obama caricature of Mr. Romney. It also undermined Mr. Obama's own pitch. The bold Romney vision put the president's (modest, pleasant) promises—for a "balanced approach," for "clean energy," to "invest in education"—in context: small, tired, failed. In outlining the great that might be, Mr. Romney made voters think about how measly the past four years have been. He flipped the Obama equation.”

The left has turned on Lehrer

“Prior to Wednesday Lehrer had been canonized as the patron saint of the Commission on Presidential Debates. His mere presence endowed the occasion with ceremony and a sort of historical grandeur. Lehrer explained to an interested world how he would allow the candidates to interact with one another. He said early on that he wanted to emphasize the differences between the Republican and the Democrat. That is exactly what happened.

Among the distinctions: One candidate was awake, and the other was not. One candidate had specific attacks and rebuttals, and the other did not. One candidate spoke energetically and without interruption, and the other did not. One candidate, Romney, made it perfectly clear that he truly wants to be president next January 20, and the incumbent seemed like he could take it or leave it. He may have to leave it.”

St. Paul, Minnesota, has a handsome new “eco-friendly” abortion facility to help with the 4,000 abortions a year in Minneapolis/St. Paul. But it’s not very “green” for babies in the womb is it?  The new building’s location was chosen because a zip code analysis pinpointed the poor and minority neighborhood. This is how the left wages war on poor women—kills their babies.  Only Houston and Denver have larger abortion mills.

Abby Johnson is praying there today.  She’s a former Planned Parenthood director, turned pro-life advocate; voted for Barack Obama in 2008. She had a conversion and realized what she was doing.

Plagiary by Obama—the 2008 and 2012 debates compared

2012: I also want to close those loopholes that are giving incentives for companies that are shipping jobs overseas. I want to provide tax breaks for companies that are investing here in the United States.
2008: Let's just be clear. What I do is I close corporate loopholes, stop providing tax cuts to corporations that are shipping jobs overseas so that we're giving tax breaks to companies that are investing here in the United States.
    *
2012: And so the question here tonight is not where we've been but where we’re going. Governor Romney has a perspective that says if we cut taxes, skewed towards the wealthy, and roll back regulations that we’ll be better off. [...]
Are we going to double down on the top-down economic policies that helped to get us into this mess, or do we embrace a new economic patriotism that says, America does best when the middle class does best? And I'm looking forward to having that debate.
2008: Now, we also have to recognize that this is a final verdict on eight years of failed economic policies promoted by George Bush, supported by Senator McCain, a theory that basically says that we can shred regulations and consumer protections and give more and more to the most, and somehow prosperity will trickle down.
It hasn't worked. And I think that the fundamentals of the economy have to be measured by whether or not the middle class is getting a fair shake. That's why I'm running for president, and that's what I hope we're going to be talking about tonight.
    *
2012: Now, I've identified areas where we can, right away, make a change that I believe would actually help the economy. The -- the oil industry gets $4 billion a year in corporate welfare. Basically, they get deductions that those small businesses that Governor Romney refers to, they don't get. Now, does anybody think that ExxonMobil needs some extra money when they're making money every time you go to the pump? Why wouldn't we want to eliminate that?
2008: And if we want to talk about oil company profits, under your tax plan, John -- this is undeniable -- oil companies would get an additional $4 billion in tax breaks. Now, look, we all would love to lower taxes on everybody. But here's the problem: If we are giving them to oil companies, then that means that there are those who are not going to be getting them.
    *
2012: [W]e've got to boost American energy production. And oil and natural gas production are higher than they’ve been in years. But I also believe that we've got to look at the energy source of the future, like wind and solar and biofuels, and make those investments.
2008: We have to have energy independence, so I've put forward a plan to make sure that, in 10 years'time, we have freed ourselves from dependence on Middle Eastern oil by increasing production at home, but most importantly by starting to invest in alternative energy, solar, wind, biodiesel, making sure that we're developing the fuel-efficient cars of the future right here in the United States[.]

Big Bird makes more than Mitt Romney

Sesame Street will do just fine without government funding. (Romney’s suggestion during the debate)

Shows like Sesame Street are multi-million dollar enterprises capable of thriving in the private market. According to the 990 tax form all nonprofits are required to file, Sesame Workshop President and CEO Gary Knell received $956,513 -- nearly a million dollars -- in compensation in 2008. And, from 2003 to 2006, "Sesame Street" made more than $211 million from toy and consumer product sales.

If you break that down, it works out to over $50 million a year "Sesame Street" is taking in from all that merchandising.

Yes, Mr. President, Romney did explain his tax plan

Jennifer, my guest blogger, watched the debates and is frustrated that Obama and liberal talking heads pretend to not hear a tax plan.

I don't know why anyone thinks Romney didn't explain his tax plan! But for those who missed his explanation, here are some of the key points he shared in the Wednesday night debate:

    1. End many of the subsidies to the "too big to fail" companies that the current administration has propped up like the 5 largest banks (and letting the small banks who are too small to matter fail).

    2. Stop the loopholes and special deals for big corporations which help them not pay taxes. GE is one example. If we close the loopholes, the big corporations will pay more even if the tax rate is lowered. He mentioned this with the gas and oil industries who get subsidies now. He mentioned cutting out subsidies to PBS.

    3. End Obamacare which is costing a fortune. It has robbed such a huge amount from Medicare that doctors and nursing homes are turning away new Medicare patients because Obamacare has made the pay out so low the doctors and nursing homes can't afford to accept them. (Romney also explained how Obamacare is different that the Massachusetts health care plan.)

    4. He cleared up the untruthful claims Obama has been making about adding 5 trillion to the deficit. That was never his plan.

    5. He said he WOULD NOT raise taxes on anyone and in fact, the big corporations would end up paying more when the loopholes and subsidies are removed. By keeping the rates lower for all, it will allow small businesses to hire more and this will make more people who are paying taxes, which will also increase the revenue coming in

    6. Repeal Dodd Frank which says banks will be penalized for making risky loans, but doesn't define what is risky so banks aren't lending for fear of being fined.

How did the media spin Obama’s loss?

“They -- as well as Democratic operatives -- are pushing the spin that this was all about style and presentation. Obama was "flat," "lackluster," "not himself," and “not firing on all cylinders.” In other words, Obama wasn't Obama last night. Some are going further, pushing the narrative that Romney was somehow mean-spirited and even deceptive in his presentation.

This analysis denies reality. Obama lost on style, to be sure. More importantly, much more importantly, he lost on content. Romney crushed him. For the first time in his political career Obama a) had to defend his record and b) had no one running interference on his behalf. Romney as challenger had a seemingly endless list of particulars to choose from and did so in a devastating manner. That, that was the damage done to Obama.
The media's refusal to focus on this all-important element is the ultimate spin control, perhaps a form of spin control heretofore unknown: spin by omission. Like so many news reports they've refused to run this year if they hurt the re-elect Obama narrative, now they're refusing to discuss the real takeaway from last night's debate because it is devastating to the incumbent.”

    The Benghazi investigation

will be buried until after the election.  The FBI was there for three hours, and now the documents will probably be unavailable until after the election, if they even appear then.  I turned in a cell phone with drug information on it and I think the local police spent more than 3 hours on it.

FBI agents made a brief visit to Benghazi this week to examine the scene of the consulate terror attack that killed four Americans -- after being delayed for weeks because of security concerns. . .

"The FBI continues to coordinate with the U.S. Departments of State, Justice, and Defense, as well as the Libyan government, and other agencies in furtherance of the investigation into the deaths of Ambassador Stevens, Glen Doherty, Sean Smith, and Tyrone Woods," the FBI said in a statement. "As this is an ongoing investigation, we have no further information to provide."

A Libyan official told AFP that the team worked for three hours collecting evidence.

As the FBI investigates, an independent panel has been established by the State Department to review what went wrong. That review, though, could take months and U.S. lawmakers were starting to express frustration after their requests for more information were rebuffed as Secretary of State Hillary Clinton urged lawmakers to wait for the conclusion of an internal review.

[Politifact.com] “We first checked with the Romney campaign, which said the figure came from the College Board, which produces an annual study of college costs. The College Board found that for the school-year 2008-2009, the average published tuition and fees for in-state students at public four-year colleges and universities was $6,585. By the 2011-2012 school year, it stood at $8,244. That’s an increase of slightly over 25 percent. So the claim has a grain of statistical truth.  “

Then Politifact goes on to do a different statistic—all costs—and claims since that cost is around 20%, the add is mostly false!  Also it was working with a Spanish language ad and didn’t like the translation.

Why put this in a campaign? It's about state supported colleges. Well, states are struggling to support our state institutions because they have all those mandates from the feds--and Obamacare will only increase that as more get bumped from employer insurance to Medicaid. That said, when I stroll across the campus at OSU, I can't believe the plush, lush, extravagant buildings and perks students of the 21st century have. College tuition and fees today are 559% of their cost in 1985. Makes medical costs look like a bargain.

Where are the yard signs against issue 51?

A friend’s daughter is trying to do a photo essay on our local school levy, but can’t find a yard sign to photograph.  I don't support issue 51 , but I see no yard signs either. The Vote for Issue 51 signs are standing next to both Romney and Obama signs.

In a suburb next door to OSU, not voting for a school or library issue is tough going. Issue 51 is a 5.8-mill operating levy for Upper Arlington City Schools on the Nov. 6 ballot. If approved by voters, the levy would cost homeowners an additional $178 in annual taxes per $100,000 in property value and generate about $9.2 million per year for the school district. We have an exceptionally good school system, but 86% of the money goes for wages and benefits.  Ohio is not a Right to Work state, so these teachers are protected by both the union and the STRS.  Their retirement package will be 3-4 times what someone on Social Security will get, with far fewer years of service.

UA schools are especially fine for those going to college (others are the children left behind--my friends suggest moving to Worthington if you have special needs children), but it's pricey and gets the same results as other districts that spend far less. UA cost per student is $15,172; at Olentangy district schools it is $9,465. Hard to find a website or an article, but here's one:

    The debates—Obama is being swamped

    561646_10151261772212650_1997498067_n[1]

Watching the debate—Obama is being Obama

David Gelernter on the debate: "Remember that Obama is Richard Nixon in a JFK suit. He can do a fair imitation of charm for the right audience, for a short time. But he is dour, sour, full of himself, and mean. He is a patronizing man who cares (and always has) about winning elections—not governing; not the United States. Romney just has to let Obama be Obama."

Lehrer appears to be cueing Obama and clarifying questions for him. This is like watching a massacre—Obama is a stumblebum without his teleprompter, he’s punch drunk, using scatter shot whereas Romney is taking aim and hitting the target.

But we all know how the MSM pundits will see it:  Obama has won!

    Fat Man Demands Bank Loan.

At Roland Lane’s FB page—I’m assuming he’s the author.

So I entered my friendly neighborhood bank with whom I have no relationship and asked to take out a loan.
"Do you have an account here?" asked the friendly banker.
    "No," I replied.
"Would you like to open an account?"
    "Yes"
    "Do you have some ID?"
"Well," said I, "Nothing with a picture on it."
"You will need a picture ID."
"Not so fast, sir," I replied. "I do not think that I need a picture ID. You see, I am somewhat large, perhaps some would say fat, and I am sure that fatness is a civil liberty. I am sure that being fat is on the PC lists. It is a civil right."
My friendly banker was now less friendly. "Sir," said  he, "Childhood obesity is in the news every minute. Childhood obesity is no longer on the PC list. It is no longer OK to be a kid and fat. It is no longer a civil right for kids because Michelle Obama picked that up as the Presidential wife thing. All President's wives have a thing, dating back to Betty Ford and alcoholism. Once she made alcohol rehab fashionable by going to a clinic it was OK to be an alcoholic and it became PC, more or less a civil right. Unfortunately, Michelle Obama's actions have taken childhood obesity off the PC list.
"But," I protested, "I am not a child, Michelle has not addressed old fat people therefore we are still on the PC List and for me, a fat old person, it is still a civil right. I believe your demand for a picture ID to get a bank loan is a direct attack on fatness, adult obesity if you please. Back off or else."
Pausing a moment, the friendly bank person glowered at me but asked: "What ID do you have?"
"I have a copy of my electric bill with my name on it and I would like a loan of ten thousand dollars."
Now the most unfriendly banker asked, "How do I know you did not cut and paste and photo shop the electric bill?
Well I replied, "I regret to inform you that you can ask that question but I do not have to answer. Where do I sign for the loan?"

Blog is now nine years old

Yesterday was my 9th blogiversary--I've been blogging since Oct. 2, 2003. Then I back dated to Oct. 1, to add some links, and just because librarians like to be tidy. My first blog was to explain why I was blogging. In the "old days" there was no Facebook or Twitter, or any other new fangled social media.

Liberal media are the enemy of the American people

Mitt Romney is not running against Barack Hussein Obama.

Governor Romney is running against a liberal media complex — Orwell’s “Ministry of Truth” — and Barack Hussein Obama.
