Is Washington fit for Sarah

"Forget the Tina Fey SNL mockery and all the marginalia being written about Sarah Palin now. She did four real things in Alaska that make her fit for anyone interested in a reform presidency.

She took on: her party's state chairman, her party's state attorney general, GOP Gov. Frank Murkowski's tainted gas pipeline project, and then she supported a GOP candidate who ran against Alaska's "untouchable" GOP congressional earmarker, Don Young.

One way or another, each episode involved severing the sleazy ties that bind public officials to grasping commercial interests, something even the Democratic left purports to favor.

It isn't just Washington and Juneau. You could open the nozzle on the same reform fire hose to wash the public-private slime out of the capital hallways of New York, New Jersey, California, Illinois and onward.

You say Sarah Palin doesn't have enough "experience" to run Washington? Washington is barely fit to be run."

I dunno.. I find her attempt to work around the open records law by doing Alaska state business on personal emails to be disturbing... and very much in the way DC thinks.

And hiring so many of your high school chums simplylsmacks of cronyism.

Certainly be skeptical of the Democrats portrayal of her.. but I would be equally skeptical of the hagiographical writings of the Republicans.

Funny how good Republicans are suddenly ready for a "change". I thought GWB was your boy? Being so desperate for change doesn't say good things about the current POTUS.

"Desperate for change" is thinking Obama spells power, c-h-a-n-g-e. GWB has done far more good than bad, but history will have to reveal that to you since you're too close to it now. I would have been happier had he been able to rein in the RINOs, fixed SS, and disbanded the Dept. of Educ, but you can't get everything. I'll settle for 2 outstanding Supreme court appointments, no terrorist attacks on home soil in 7 years, vetos on embryonic stem cell expansion, and being a moral leader in the abortion issue. Oh yes, and not running out on our allies in Iraq, which Democrats have urged for the last 5 years. Cowardly yellow bellied chicken hawks that they are, even for them it's a pretty slimy record. As an ex-president, I hope he doesn't embarrass us like Jimmy Carter has, flitting around trying to stir up trouble, or making secret deals on the side, the way our pre-president BO did to try to influence the outcome of the war to his favor. Imagine if it were your son or daughter killed because BO had pushed for no resolution under Bush and waiting until after the campaign results.

Or like Ronald Reagan did with the Hostage crisis? Or is your memory really that selective.
