A great speech

George W. Bush speaking at his welcome home rally. Wow. Heart warming, funny, empowering, encouraging, uplifting, principled, unifying, not divisive; and a message I fear we'll never hear again. I hope someone is making a video so I can post it.

Update: At least 4 minutes or so of the speech.

Ah yes. Good ol' boy Bush. As a Texan, I can tell you that all of his "I'm so glad to be back here in Texas with the normal folks" talk is complete fantasy. I've had the opportunity to meet the man face-to-face on a number of occasions, and have always been shocked at how much of an elitist he truly is. The first time I met him, I was a fan. The last time I met him, he turned me off for good.

If you don't like him, I'm not surprised at your opinion. I was really turned off by McCain's treatment of Palin and was sorry I sent him money. Are there humble Texans?

Oh no - I DID like him. In fact, I loved him - before I met him in person and he treated me like a second class citizen.
