Friday Family Photos

My parents' wedding day, 1934

Their 65th anniversary celebration, 1999

The oldest of God's institutions (Gen. 1,2) is marriage, and its choicest blessing is children, described in the Bible as God's gift. Children exist not only for their parents; but parents also for them--for physical support and, above all, for careful nurturing for moral, mental, and spiritual imprint. Great post Norma. I love old photos. It's only latley that I am getting older that I apreciate old photos that my mom and dad bring out to show me. The pics tell a story. It's a part of my history so to speak. Who were my great great great grandparents? Were they chritians? Did they believe in God? Stuff like that. Nice picture of your mom and dad.

My parents never made a single photo album so all the photos were thrown in a box. When I was about 45 I carefully went through the boxes and arranged all the photos chronologically or by topic. Made at least 4 albums for them, then began one for the g-grandchildren. Then I put all the dups and really bad photos in envelopes for anyone to take. Mom gave the albums to my nephew (of their early years) shortly before she died, so all I have are the dups I managed to save.

I think people who keep photos only in digital form are making a mistake. Print and save selectively. (You'll have no use for 100 shots of baby's Halloween costume.) If you don't believe me, I've got some old unuseable large format disks for you. Nothing digital is permanent, except that e-mail that might get you fired.
