H.R. 3926

You can track it, or any legislation, here. Here is the pretty, but distorted and bloated, title: "To provide affordable, quality health care for all Americans and reduce the growth in health care..."

And there's a word of caution at the site: "This bill is very large, and loading it may cause your web browser to perform sluggishly, or even freeze. This is especially true for old and/or bad browsers. As an alternative you can download the PDF of the bill or read the text on THOMAS." And they were right. I clicked. It spun a bit, then sputtered.

If you can get to Washington by Thursday there is a protest being planned. They are ignoring our letters, phone calls and e-mail. Congress just doesn't get it. They should have cleaned up the mess in the government plans we already have wasting millions a year. But no. They wanted something even bigger and messier.

I don't know anyone who has had their health insurance cancelled for going beyond the limits of the policy, or for not disclosing a prior condition. I'm sure it happens. However, I do know several who have waited months or years through numerous appeals, and piles of documentation, waiting for some level of government to act on their case. We also know, that this bill will cut the benefits for seniors, and that will immediately put a burden on the "sandwich" generation who will then need to be doing more hands on care--along with that garden the President wants you to plant in the back yard, and the clothes line you'll need as we become energy starved. Oh, hope and change.

You may know that my hubby is a physician. This medicare lite would be a disaster, so would Obama's "public option", which is neither public nor option. The American Medical Association supports Obama, but they do not represent most physicians. The AMA only represents a tiny portion of doctors. The majority are completely against this push toward government run medicine. No good can come from it.

Thanks for visiting, keep in touch.

I was watching c-span at 9:00 p.m. last night and caught the most well spoken, polite, well dressed, calm, organized group of Republicans one from Minnetota, another a freshman in the house and former OBGYN from Tennessee and others who rationally explained that our health care is the best in the world, pointed out with easy to understand charts the few who have not declined healthcare or are illegal aliens who need healthcare and why they are in that situation. They explained that those of us who have plans that work would be out of luck by 2011, and the number of those who will die waiting for the oversite board to grant them an operation. One well spoken woman talked about the added stress the new plan would place on an already stressed famale population. It was good old fashion food for thought without recrimination. Of course the House was empty except for the recorder, the representatives speaking and the chairperson. Today at ten a.m. the house was packed with angry, red faced, Democrats blaming the Republicans for the fix they say we are in. I will now be monitoring the House of Representatives in the evening when the angry Democrats are off at parties, the gym etc. Bev
