Dearborn Mayor lies about Christians arrested for proselytizing - Jihad Watch

You can get arrested in Dearborn, Michigan for praying . . . with a Muslim . . . if you are a Christian. Apparently, the first amendment doesn't apply at local Arab festivals, even though many Arabs are Christians.

I did a posting about this a few weeks back too. Evidently, these Christians were distributing literature including one of the books of the Gospel, (Matthew, if I recall) on PUBLIC STREETS during this Arab festival.

One wonders how fast the ACLU would have jumped in to defend Muslims had the roles been reversed...

@T. Paine, but you were wrong about your post. They passed out material the year before in the festival. When they were arrested they were not handing out anything. They handed out the Arabic/English version of the "Gospel of John" on the 20th, two days after their arrest, but only handed this outside of the festival gates.

The video they originally had confiscated has now been returned. It shows a very different scene then the one played out by the mayor.

Locrian, I appreciate the information. The information I received, upon which I based my post, was from a Christian religious freedom group, so I assumed the sources were accurate.

Perhaps, as you suggest, they were in error on some of the facts; therefore, I was also.

Thanks for setting me straight.

Well don't take my word for it Paine. Best thing is to go see for yourself.

Please keep an open browser with the mayors statements open and look for things like who he says they blocked the entrances, and disobeyed police, then watch the videos where Nabeel asks police if they should move and the officer saying, "Nah, your fine".

I'd love to know the "Christian" sources you obtained your info from. I'd love to see if any retraction has been posted.

Please leave a link if you could.

I'm just infuriated at these so called "Christian" groups so quick to condemn a brother without having any more of a clue to what happened then what was in the mayors statement.

Thank you in advance for any links you may leave.
